Dachshund Reindeer

When I found this image at Mo's Digital Pencil, I had to put it into the shopping basket right away.  I have a blogging buddy (who shall remain nameless until I know she's received the card which I've already mailed - so glad you got it, Lynn!  lol) who will love this since she has a beloved doxie.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to post it today because even if she hasn't received it, she rarely visits blogs on weekends.  If you happen to know who she is, don't tell!  I really want her to miss this one unless she's gotten her card in the mail.  And if you happen to see her coming down the hallway toward this blog, divert her, take her out to lunch, point her in a different direction, anything to keep her away from this post.  lol  (OK, she received the card so you can all stand down from hallway duty!)

Guest Designer at Mo's Digital Pencil

I was so honored to be asked to Guest Design at Mo's Digital Pencil this month.  The DT ladies over there are all so talented and they all color so magnificently, I consider myself to be in High Company!

I adore all the images at Mo's Digital Pencil but this one, called "Mummu's Kissa," is among my absolute favorites.  I love all the Mummu images but toss in a cat and I'm over the moon!   In this one, you can tell that Kissa simply adores his human and can't wait for her to feed him.  I think she feels the same way.  I'm not sure which of them is more grateful for the other.  :-D

Btw, the floor is not in the original image.  I added that myself.

This is the last of the 5 posts I had today.  It was just one of those unusual times when my regular Friday post combined with the 1st of the month and the 1st Friday of the month.  :-D   Mo's challenges usually start on Saturdays and this one will run until December 4.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Orange and White Halloween

I took to heart the challenge theme at Double D - to use nothing but orange and white on a project with an allowable neutral for a sentiment.  So, did I choose something easy like a sunflower image or leaves, or just a focal sentiment done in orange on a white background?  No, I chose an image from Mo's Digital Pencil, complete with Little Witch Henrietta and her farm kitten sitting there in the pumpkin patch.  What could I possibly do with just orange and white?  lol

I used 9 different shades of orange ProMarkers and Copics, everything from Pale Orange to Deep Mango.  Nobody ever said I took the easy road to the destination!  What do you think?  Can you find the patch job I had to do?

No Candles - Just Cake

Do you have someone close who's about to celebrate one of those landmark birthdays but they just don't want anything to tattletale their age?  Yeah?  Me, too, but my daughter shall remain anonymous.  lol  She's less than a month from her birthday and, no, I won't tell you which one.  I mean, really, however old she is, her age makes me so much older!

This card with an image from Mo's Digital Pencil is in honor of not saying or doing anything which might tell her age.

Colors from the challenge at Mo's.
This was easy since purple is my fav color
and the purple/aqua combo is also my fav.

I'm sharing another of my favorite images from Mo's Digital Pencil which has the sweetest little urchin feeding the birds during the cold days of Christmas.  They have a color challenge for the theme this month which includes one of my favorite color combos - purples and aquas.

Burp the Cat

This sweet little girl from Mo's Digital Pencil knows all about babies, including feeding and burping them.  From the look on the cat's face, I'm not at all sure he truly appreciates all the dedicated care he's getting.  :-D

I used colors from Color My Heart #354, top row
plus Ballerina and Sweet Leaf.

...Not even a Mouse

So it's nearly the middle of July, and definitely the middle of the year and I'm finally doing my first Christmas tag for the year!  It's 4" x 4" and the perfect size for the stamp.  The stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil and I think it's the first one I ever got from Mo's.  I know I've had it a long time, maybe as much as 10 years, and I've used it for several cards over the years.  If you're not familiar with her delightful art, do go check them out!

Welcome Gnome

Yes, the title is a deliberate pun and this card is going to new neighbors who just moved into the neighborhood.  They have a cute garden gnome in their yard so I thought this image would work well to welcome them.  Image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I did a CAS card with a masculine feel since I have no idea about their tastes or preferences and simple always works.

Sketch from Cheerful Sketches.

     I used:
ProMarkers
QuicKutz dies
Kraft CS
Linen embossing folder (yellow CS) (scrap)
Bleached CS (green) (scrap)

     Challenges:

Update:  My shoulder is healing slowly and is better than it was even a week ago.  Most activities are still being done by using my left hand/arm but I'm able to piece together a CAS card or two as long as I don't overdo it.  Typing is still forbidden, except the occasional, one-handed, left hand, hunt-and-peck, 10 minute foray, and not much gets done in that short span of time.  But the healing process is ongoing and I hope to be back to normal (an odd word to describe me! lol) within the month.  I figure I can give up brushing my hair with my right hand if it means I can have a crafting session for half an hour.  Thanks for your prayers.

Tulips Mean Spring

Hey, did you know the Mo's Digital Pencil challenge was back?  It's an "Anything Goes" theme with an optional twist of "Spring."  This darling image (called Boo and Tulips) is an older one but you can still find it in the shop.  It's perfect for a spring theme but could work for nearly anything.  I'm using it for a birthday card for my SIL who has a May birthday and who loves kittens.

Even the briefest of glances around my blog sidebar will tell you that I love cats!  I disagree with every person who says cats are aloof and unresponsive.  I agree that some of them have "attitude" but it's the very thing I love most about them.

I love that when a cat attaches to a human, it's forever and it's completely unrelenting.  My cats follow me around the house when I move from room to room, insist on sleeping right beside me on the bed at night, and have their own favorite spaces in the craft room which they occupy whenever I'm in there.  :-D

I colored with ProMarkers, then used a Cottage Cutz die to cut out the image.  I printed the sentiment and used another Cottage Cutz die to cut it.  I had to adjust the placement of the die and cut twice to get the size and shape I needed but it worked.

I found periwinkle CS to make the card base and ran the front side through my 'Linen' embossing folder.  I wanted something really CAS so I adhered the image and the sentiment pieces and then left it totally alone - no embellishment at all.

Coloring in Scrapland
Crafter's Castle
Cutie Pie
