Candy Hearts

Only House Mouse could make finding mice in your bowl of candy hearts something cute!  :-D

I used water color paints and pencils to color the image, then cut it with an oval die by QuicKutz.  The shiny, metallic CS frame for the image was cut with another QuicKutz die from that same set.  I used one of the smallest oval dies from that set to cut a scarp of the metallic CS and layered the sentiment on top of it.  The sentiment piece was cut with an Avery Elle die.

I found a scrap of pink dp and layered it onto the white card bade,  then added a bit of ribbon, hand tying it just off centered above the image.  I thought the shine from the metallic CS, plus the ribbon, was enough 'splash' so called it finished.

Gardening Girl

My second post of the day but that's what happens on the first of the month.  This post is for QKR Stampede and our new challenge starts today.  I've been with the QKR DT since 2015 and I absolutely adore their images and those of our sister company, Eureka Stamps.  I've showcased more than 200 images and, so far, haven't duplicated anything.  That means there are a huge number of stamps available in the shop.  The image I used today is from QKR Stampede and it's called "Gardening Girl."

BTW, QKR Stamps are a terrific bargain.  They come in both digis and rubber and the digis sell for $2.00 each while the rubber stamps range from $3.00 up to the mid- $4.00.  When is the last time you bought a rubber stamp for $3.00?  Incredible!  And they are all so cute.  :-D

Colored w ProMarkers
Image cut w Spellbinders die
Sentiment printed & cut w IO die
Edges inked w ProMarker
Card base is shiny, metallic CS

     Challenges:
(Uneven Edge (on the die cut)/Friendship/Flowers)

We'd love to see you playing in our QKR Stampede challenge.  Don't forget, our theme is always "Anything Goes."  You may use any image from any company but if you do use something from QKR (or our sister company, Eureka Stamps), your entry will go into a separate draw just for those who used QKR/Eureka and that increases your chances of winning by a huge margin!    See you there.

Sweet as Sweetpeas

I can hardly believe that I've done 4 daily posts in a row!  I'm beginning to get back to my normal "every day" postings and, in my mind, that means my COVID recovery is moving right along.  :-D

This is my card for the monthly challenge over at Beccy's Place where the theme is "Anything Goes" but there's an optional theme of flowers, plants, & foliage.  I used Beccy's Sweetpeas image, which I think has been retired.  I took the shortcut of using a pre-colored image and it's really gorgeous!  I'm sorry for the glare on the photo but the green background is metallic CS and every photo I took had that shiny glare.  :-(

I used the sketch from The Outlawz

Music in His Pocket

If this isn't the best image of today's teenage boy, I don't know what is.  A music player in his back pocket, earbuds in his ears, and a cell phone in his hands.  If this is one particular teen I know, he's watching a basketball game streamed live to his tiny screen, and in a normal year, he might even be waiting for waiting for the bus to take him home after his first day back at school.  ;-D

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I used colors from Color My Heart Color Dare
(diagonal from left bottom to right top
+ Glacier, Espresso, & Peach)

Mother's Day Silhouette

I'm pretty much hooked on all the images from Bugaboo Stamps but I especially love their silhouettes!  I thought this one would make a lovely Mother's Day card.

I started with the inspiration photo from Catch the Bug
and the sketch from Stella Says Sketch
which I adjusted to fit a square card.

I colored with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a simple, square die from QuicKutz.  I cut another square one die size larger, cutting shiny, metallic, purple CS to use as the frame for the image.

All the designer papers are from DCWV and all were scraps, including what I used for the background.  I added one of my signature bows, this time made from sheer ribbon and 'dyed' with ProMarkers to get the exact shade of purple that I wanted.

I printed the sentiment, hand cut, matted, and hand cut it again, then added it to the lower corner of the card.
