Gardening Girl

My second post of the day but that's what happens on the first of the month.  This post is for QKR Stampede and our new challenge starts today.  I've been with the QKR DT since 2015 and I absolutely adore their images and those of our sister company, Eureka Stamps.  I've showcased more than 200 images and, so far, haven't duplicated anything.  That means there are a huge number of stamps available in the shop.  The image I used today is from QKR Stampede and it's called "Gardening Girl."

BTW, QKR Stamps are a terrific bargain.  They come in both digis and rubber and the digis sell for $2.00 each while the rubber stamps range from $3.00 up to the mid- $4.00.  When is the last time you bought a rubber stamp for $3.00?  Incredible!  And they are all so cute.  :-D

Colored w ProMarkers
Image cut w Spellbinders die
Sentiment printed & cut w IO die
Edges inked w ProMarker
Card base is shiny, metallic CS

     Challenges:
(Uneven Edge (on the die cut)/Friendship/Flowers)

We'd love to see you playing in our QKR Stampede challenge.  Don't forget, our theme is always "Anything Goes."  You may use any image from any company but if you do use something from QKR (or our sister company, Eureka Stamps), your entry will go into a separate draw just for those who used QKR/Eureka and that increases your chances of winning by a huge margin!    See you there.

     Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Canine Style Gardening

My card today is for a gardening friend of mine who also happens to be a dog lover extraordinaire.  The image is the monthly progressive challenge freebie at From the Heart Stamps and the sketch is also from one of their challenges.

Here's the sketch.

Sketch144

I colored with my ProMarkers and then dug through the scrap pile to find the CS and the ribbon.  The pawprint is a stamp from Sweet Stamps.  The sentiment is mine, printed with a computer font and fussy cut.

     Challenges:
Aud Sentiments (top row)
Craft Rocket
Crafting by Designs
Crafting with an Attitude
Crafty Creations
Crafty Girls Creations
Creative Moments
Inspiration Destination
Little Miss Muffet
Moving Along with the Times
Outlawz Twisted Thursday
Star Stampz

Last year I had my garden in and had sprouts a few inches high by now, but I don't know if I'll get to making a garden this year.  I'm just so far behind on everything and it doesn't look like planting is going to work its way into my schedule any time soon.  Sigh, I will miss the fresh veggies all summer long. :-(  Oh, well, Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Birthday Garden

I've been sorting through my huge collection of dies, trying to get them organized into some sort of order.  Well, you know what happens during forays into the crafting room to "get things organized" -- we get distracted by wanting to create something with the hidden goodies we find.  This card is the result of one of those distractions.

This one is a bit different from my usual colored image and embellies.  Instead, it's all done with die cuts.  The primary die cut was done with a die called "Gardening" from die-namites.  I cut white CS, then red, and then green, and used pieces to inlay the design.  The sentiment is printed and fussy cut.  The flower and the butterfly are also die cuts but not cut by me.  They were embellies I found hiding in my stash.

I love that stitched ribbon, and I think it's from Really Reasonable Ribbon but it might be from a local craft store.  It was in my stash but not labelled in any way.

     Challenges:
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards
Crafty Calendar
Fussy and Fancy
Imagine That
Outlawz Paper ala Mode
Quick Quotes
Really Reasonable Ribbon
Scrapper's Delight
Simply Papercraft
Stamping Boutique

Boy, does it feel good to be back in my routine again!   Mostly, it feels so good to be crafting again.  :-D  Thanks for stopping by, my friends.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Spring Planting

I haven't played with a Bugaboo Stamps image in a while and today seemed a good opportunity to play in their Catch the Bug "Spring" challenge.  I've had this fun image for so long but I can't remember ever using it so...  I'm not sure if the cat is chasing the bird or if the cat is protecting his seed pots but either way, I thought it made a great image for spring.  :-D  Hmmm, maybe the bird is chasing the cat?

I also used the sketch from Bugaboo's Stella Says Sketch.

I used ProMarkers to color the image and then die cut it with a Spellbinders die.  I used a plain octagon die (QuicKutz) to cut a mat for the image.  I used chalks to highlight the embossed edges of the image.  The leaves were cut with a Cheery Lynn die and I added some ultra fine glitter to them to give them some sparkle.

The background dp is from the Loolah stack by Iron Orchid and that stack has been hiding in my stash for more than 2 years!  It was one of those I bought because I just 'had to have it' and have never used a single page of it.  Now I can give up my guilt trip over that since I've used a sheet of it now.  And it's a sheet I really, really love!  My final touch was the Baker's Twine bow.

     Challenges:
A Creative Need -- Signs of spring
Add a little Dazzle -- Spring
Craft for the Craic -- Something for spring
Crafter's Cafe -- Spring
Crafty Catz -- Animals
Hobbybook Designs -- 2 or more die cuts
Moving Along with the Times -- Spring
Polkadoodles -- Animal magic

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this as much as I enjoyed making it.  Our weather is nice -- not too cool and not too hot yet so I may actually put some time in on gardening matters myself.  I have new bulbs to get in the ground and herbs to pot.  If I miss a couple of days of posting this week, you may rightfully conclude that I'm engaged in spring planting.  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
