Christmas Sparkle

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card, maybe the first one I've done since my few "Christmas in July" cards.  This one is  little different in that only three markers were used (yellow ProMarker on the glow of the candle flame, green ProMarker on the fir foliage, and light gray ProMarker for the shadow behind the swag), then the rest of the coloring was done by layering on sparkle gel pens over the greenery and the flame.  It gives a very soft, sparkly, glow to the image.  White gel pen was used for adding highlights to the ornaments, too.

Once colored, I cut the image with a Tonic Studios die, then inked the edges with a green ProMarker.  The sentiment came from a scrap of Christmas CS, probably from K & Co., and I cut it with the smallest die from that same set of Tonic Studios rectangle dies, & again inked the edges with a ProMarker.  The background dp is from a Recollections stack.  I found the strip of holly & berries dp in the scrap basket. applied it across the top of the card, and trimmed it to size.

Spring Bees & Blossoms

We are actually having a delightful spring day today and I did this card to celebrate it.  It's also another card for my Birthday stash.  It features one of my favorite spring images from SheepSki Designs, called "Bee n Blossom."  I seem to use it at least one time every spring.  :-D

Colored with Sanjoki markers, with sparkle gel pen used on the wings, then cut with a fancy Spellbinders die.  Both of the papers are from Recollections and the background has embossed suede texture.  The stripes are shiny gold and also have texture.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.

I used colors from the palette at Not2Shabby.

Broom and Caldron

The image I used today is another one of those which was exchanged in my group of crafters and I think it was done with a stencil but it may have been a silhouette rubber stamp.  I thought it was fun and fabulous so I did a bit of coloring with ProMarkers, then used gold paint pen on the witch's hat and sparkle gel pen on the cauldron handle and rim.

The image was cut with a Sue Wilson die and the sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  The background paper is from Taylor Made.

Winter Window

This Winter Window image from Beccy's Place is for the 30 Days of Holidays and it's one of my favorite images.  I think I've used it for a Christmas card each year since it was released.  I love the candle in the window, calling the entire family home for the holidays.

My other two "W"s are White and Warm gray.  I colored with my ProMarkers, added sparkle to snow with glitter pens, then cut the inset image and the frame with a die from Spellbinders.  The sentiment was printed and cut with a Tonic Studios die and matted with warm gray CS.  I really wanted that delicate, fancy frame to be the only embellishment so I did nothing else to the card.  The frame keeps it from looking CAS but it's nothing more than the image/frame piece on the card front so that seems pretty CAS to me.  :-D

Singing in the Spring Rain

Let's start by saying Happy Easter to all who celebrate it !

My card today has nothing to do with Easter but it is a celebration of spring.  The image is from  House Mouse, of course - nobody who has ever used a House Mouse stamp could miss that.  :-D

Do you like my new hologram CS from Lawn Fawn?  It was part of my latest shopping trip over there.

Dachshund Reindeer

When I found this image at Mo's Digital Pencil, I had to put it into the shopping basket right away.  I have a blogging buddy (who shall remain nameless until I know she's received the card which I've already mailed - so glad you got it, Lynn!  lol) who will love this since she has a beloved doxie.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to post it today because even if she hasn't received it, she rarely visits blogs on weekends.  If you happen to know who she is, don't tell!  I really want her to miss this one unless she's gotten her card in the mail.  And if you happen to see her coming down the hallway toward this blog, divert her, take her out to lunch, point her in a different direction, anything to keep her away from this post.  lol  (OK, she received the card so you can all stand down from hallway duty!)

It's the first Friday in November and there's a new monthly challenge starting at Brown Sugar  We are being sponsored by DRS Designs this month and they supplied us with some of the cutest images.  Be sure to visit the main Brown Sugar blog to see what all the designers have done.

I combined "Feeding Reindeer" and "North Pole Sign" to make my card.  One of my grandsons will know instantly that this card is for him because he's the one who always put out "magic grain" for the reindeer to eat during their travels.  He worried that they might run out of magic if they got hungry on Christmas Eve.  :-D
