This fun and silly image came from the Progressive Challenge at Limited Runs this month. I know we're commonly advised to "Stop and smell the roses" but this one looks more like she's stopping to taste the tulips. lol I did a pretty simple design with just the image and some ribbon.

We had rain again this morning, even though our weather predictors said it would only rain up in the mountains and that we'd see nothing. Mind you, I'm not complaining! It was wonderful to hear the rain pounding down on the metal awning over my driveway right outside my craft room. What a wonderful background accompaniment to the creative process. :-D

Stubborn Cats and Children
I'm finally getting to play with and share new (new to me) Mo's Digital Pencil images which I purchased before the holidays but had no time to use before the holiday rush and scramble began. Now that we're in the New Year, I have breathing room and managed to get this new card done.
I combined these two images with that sentiment because they brought back childhood memories of trying to teach my cat to play fetch. Well, our family's golden retriever did it pretty well with only a little bit of training so why not the cat? The cat on this card pretty much tells the story of what happened . :-D
I deliberately used bright pink ribbon because everything else on the card was done in pastel shades, including the lavender CS behind the image piece.
Colored w/ ProMarkers & chalks
Cut with Spellbinders border die - used on all 4 sides
1/8th" ribbon woven through and tied in the corner
Gem added to bow
Rosette for tassel cut w/ QuicKutz die
Sentiment printed and hand cut

Last Easter Card for This Year
I've been scrambling to get all the Easter cards done that I needed and I mailed the majority of them earlier this week. This is the first one I made but it's the last to be posted since I was holding it to post for my DT card for today's new challenge at QKR Stampede. I used an image called "Being Silly" and a sentiment called "Easter Is...". I think it's adorable!
I colored it with ProMarkers and die cut it with a stitched die from Lawn Fawn. The two scalloped circles were cut from sea foam green CS with a Memory Box die. The dp came from a stack by DCWV.
I found some sheer ribbon in my stash and wrapped it around the card front, then tied the ends into a bow. I printed the sentiment, fussy cut it, inked the edge, and layered it on top of the ribbon.

The weekend is nearly here! I'm so ready for some down time. I feel like I've been on a dead run for the last 6 days with hardly a moment for crafting or relaxing. I won't have any free time until late into Saturday but I plan to do some crafting then. Happy Crafting. NanaConnie

One Egg in the Basket
You've all heard the old adage about not putting all your eggs in one basket but this card shows what happens when there's only room for one egg in your basket! :-D The image is for the March Progressive Challenge image at Scrapper's Delights, another of the progressives I play regularly.
This time I colored it in pastel shades with my Copics and then cut it with a die from Spellbinders. I used a larger die from that same set to cut the bright pink mat. The sparkly ribbon was the last bit in my stash. The pink satin ribbon for the bow was recycled from an old child's dress.
Everything was layered together and adhered to a deep purple rectangle, then added to a pre-made card blank.
Challenges:
Colour Crazy Craft
Dream Valley
Fussy and Fancy
Moving Along with the Times
Outlawz Festive Friday
Outlawz Greetings
Pammie's Inky Pinkies
Take It, Make It
I'm getting close to being finished with my Easter cards for the grandkids but still have to make a few for friends to use. Fortunately, I still have plenty of time. :-D Happy Stamping. NanaConnie

Kitten Cuddles
This image from Ppinkydolls was the freebie for the May Progressive challenge at The Outlawz and you know I fell in love with it!
I decided on a CAS design with very limited embellishments. I colored the image with my ProMarkers plus I added sparkle gel ink to her wings. The top wing is layered on with Pop Dots for a bit of dimension. Then I used my largest square die (Spellbinders) to cut it. I added a piece of sheer ribbon to the image piece and layered that onto a blue card base so that it looks framed or matted. The butterfly is double layered with one colored and the other one white with a gem for a bit of sparkle.
Wouldn't this make a perfect get well card for a child?

Fairy Hats
I love fairy images and when I find a new one, I just have to grab it. This one I bought at Sweet Pea Stamps so that I could begin entering their Progressive Challenge on their FB page. I missed out on playing last month so I'm starting this month. The image is called "How Do I Look?" and I love that she's trying on various flowers as hats. Obviously, her tiny bunny friend is offering an opinion. What do you think?
The image is colored with ProMarkers and a couple of chalk markers and then cut with a Cheery Lynn die. These are my favorite kinds of dies -- the ones which make a fancy, delicate frame around the image allowing a CAS design which doesn't look at all CAS. Usually, I separate the inside and outside pieces, and use a colored piece for the outside frame. This time, I kept both pieces together and mounted them on top of forest green CS, cut to size.
For embellishments, I kept it minimal by adding only three small pearls on the left side and one bow, handmade and 'dyed' with marker to get the shade of green I wanted.

I hope your weekend went well. Yesterday, we finally got a break from the 100+ degree temps and it looks like we'll be out of the high 90s in a day or two. I'm so ready for fall with that chill snap in the air, saying summer is really gone and the weather will be livable once again. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie
