Fairy Dust Day

It wasn't until I saw this image and sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps that I understood what makes the difference between an ordinary day and a birthday.  lol  I love that idea and will be calling on the fairies for all family birthdays from this point forward.

Beach Lemonade

It's very likely that the area where I live will reach 100 degrees this week and it's only the first third of May, for Heaven's sake!  We always get hot, hot, HOT! weather during our summer months, usually several days in a row of over 100 degrees and when that happens I either stay inside in the craft room air conditioning or I head out for the beach.  I guess this week is perfect for this card I made over the weekend.  These House Mouse mousies have the right idea but they really need to watch that sunburn.  :-D

Colored w ProMarkers

I hope your weather is more pleasant than ours.  If it's not, stay inside and Happy Crafting.  :-D  NanaConnie

Happy Mouse

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts.  This week, we're sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy and the theme is "Anything Goes."  They supplied images for the team to use and I used the pre-colored, bonus image from the Happy Mouse set.  I needed the shortcut of a pre-colored image at the time I was making this card; I was still in the midst of my COVID recovery.  :-D

Sky's the Limit!

It was wonderful to receive the freebie image for the May Progressive challenge at Imagine That!  It meant I was back as one of the participants over there and that made me feel that things were definitely getting back to 'normal.'  :-D

I thought this would be perfect for an encouragement card or just to let someone know I was thinking about them.

I based this on the sketch from The Outlawz.

"Frog Green" Sick

Yesterday, as I was making this card, I had a sudden flash of memory about a friend of mine who had come down with a nasty stomach flu.  After not hearing from her for a few days, I called and she answered the phone with a death-warmed-over voice.  I knew right away that she must be ill and asked her what was wrong.  She replied by saying she was "frog green sick."   I didn't need any additional details.  That pretty much said it all.  :-D

So this card became a Get Well card which will go into the stash until needed.

Of course, the image is from Beccy's Place and the optional twist in the challenge this month is a sketch.  You don't have to use it because the theme is always "Anything Goes" with a Beccy's image but it's a fun sketch if you want to give it a shot.

And here's my card:

New Life

The first Monday in May and time for another new challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps.  This will be our last challenge until the first Monday in September.  We're taking the summer off (or winter, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere.)  Our theme is always "Anything Goes" and you can use any stamp/digi from any company to enter our challenges.  However, it's worth remembering that if you do use a JDS image, your entry goes into a separate drawing only for those entries using JDS digi stamps and therefore, your chances of winning are increased by a huge amount!

My card today features an image from  the set called "Early Spring Nest" and I'm using it for a baby shower card for a new little girl expected early this summer.  The sentiment is mine.

Here it is time for another challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and our theme is "Anything Goes."  We're sponsored this week by CAS-ual Fridays and they generously supplied rubber stamp sets to each DT member.  Mine is called "Floating" and I had a marvelous time doing heat embossing again!

Spooky Spider

Many of you know that since they restarted in March, I've been trying to play along in the monthly (2nd of Month to 28th) "Anything Halloween Goes" challenges at Two Old Bats, a challenge dedicated to year-round Halloween.  I was invited to be a Guest Designer this month and I'm thrilled to share with you a card I made using an image a friend sent to me last fall when I was still suffering from the loss of all my digital images.  Unfortunately, I have no idea who drew the image so can't give full and proper credit.

The first thing you should know is that I HATE spiders!  They are just so creepy.  My phobia is so bad, I can't even stand to look at pics of them!  But this one is kinda cute with his goofy smile and crossed eyes.  :-D

This is my take on the sketch at Crafty Friends.

Colored w/ water colors & ProMarkers
Cut w/ Cottage Cutz die
Matted w/ white CS scrap - hand-trimmed corners
Sentiment printed and hand cut, mounted on Pop Dots

Graduating Bear

This is my next post of the day (and I have a total of 3 for the first of June) and it's for the new challenge at QKR Stampede.  I used Graduating Bear and this card is for my youngest grandson who leaves the world of middle school and heads for high school.  How did that happen?  Impossible!

     Challenges:
(links will be added soon)

Come play with us this fortnight.  Remember, QKR always has two separate draws - 1 for those who use any image and a second just for those who use a QKR Stampede image (or Eureka Stamps, our sister company) which means if you use QKR, your chances of winning are greatly increased!  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Gardening Girl

My second post of the day but that's what happens on the first of the month.  This post is for QKR Stampede and our new challenge starts today.  I've been with the QKR DT since 2015 and I absolutely adore their images and those of our sister company, Eureka Stamps.  I've showcased more than 200 images and, so far, haven't duplicated anything.  That means there are a huge number of stamps available in the shop.  The image I used today is from QKR Stampede and it's called "Gardening Girl."

BTW, QKR Stamps are a terrific bargain.  They come in both digis and rubber and the digis sell for $2.00 each while the rubber stamps range from $3.00 up to the mid- $4.00.  When is the last time you bought a rubber stamp for $3.00?  Incredible!  And they are all so cute.  :-D

     Challenges:
(Uneven Edge (on the die cut)/Friendship/Flowers)

We'd love to see you playing in our QKR Stampede challenge.  Don't forget, our theme is always "Anything Goes."  You may use any image from any company but if you do use something from QKR (or our sister company, Eureka Stamps), your entry will go into a separate draw just for those who used QKR/Eureka and that increases your chances of winning by a huge margin!    See you there.

     Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Cat's Meow

It's the First of May - May Day in many countries - and in my childhood days, May Day meant leaving little flower bouquets at your neighbor's house.  In Victorian days, the bouquets were called "Tussy Mussies" and they were hung on door knobs.

In any case, it's time for a new challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies where the theme is always "Anything Goes with a Critter."  Just show us your projects featuring critters of any kind (animal, insect, feathered, or with fins, but no humans.  Mermaids count, gnomes don't.  :-D

Our sponsor this month is TNT Artspirations and they supplied images for each of the DT to use.  I chose Fluffy Kitten and this comes in a set with 3 images and 7 sentiments.  I kept it CAS to show off that adorable kitten face and used a black card base to make the image pop and show off the bursts of green.

This adorable image is the Tea Cup Bunny from the Rosy Tea Party set and the sentiment is part of the set.

An "Oldster's" View on Naptime

Remember when you started kindergarten, feeling very grown up to be facing the world without Mom, only to discover that you still had to take naps?   We all knew we were too old to have to take naps (despite falling asleep within 5 minutes of lying down!)  How different things look now that I've joined the ranks of the "Oldsters."  Naps are wonderful things and I really hate the days when I miss out on taking one.  :-D

Celebrating naps and catching up on one more progressive challenge at LeAnn's World 101.

I think this is the third time I've used this image but she's such a cute little hedgie, how could anyone resist her?  She's from Bugaboo Stamps and I have yet to decide if this is going to be a birthday card, or  for Mother's Day, or just a simple "Thinking of You" card.  Clearly it's a versatile image.  :-D

Beautiful Minds & Butterflies

Our newest challenge starts today at Creative Knockouts and I'm participating with the DT for the first time since coming down with COVID-19 and and being hospitalized.  Our theme this week is "Wings & Things" and our wonderful sponsor is Artsystamper.  They supplied the DT with images to use and I chose "Aster Garden" because of that lovely butterfly and the great sentiment.

Maisy Mouse

Another DT card for Conie Fong, featuring Maisy Mouse from the Maisy and Cory Mouse bundle.  You'll see my DT card using Cory Mouse later on.  I adore these little mice - they are some of the cutest mice ever drawn and I hope Conie will be doing more of them in the future.

Chevron Thank You

Time for another new challenge over at Pammie's Inky Pinkies where our theme is "Anything Goes."  We are sponsored this week by Newton's Nook.  My DT card is made with die cut scraps and is about as CAS as one can get using nothing but die cuts.

Sweet as Sweetpeas

I can hardly believe that I've done 4 daily posts in a row!  I'm beginning to get back to my normal "every day" postings and, in my mind, that means my COVID recovery is moving right along.  :-D

This is my card for the monthly challenge over at Beccy's Place where the theme is "Anything Goes" but there's an optional theme of flowers, plants, & foliage.  I used Beccy's Sweetpeas image, which I think has been retired.  I took the shortcut of using a pre-colored image and it's really gorgeous!  I'm sorry for the glare on the photo but the green background is metallic CS and every photo I took had that shiny glare.  :-(

I used the sketch from The Outlawz

Early Halloween

I know we're still 6 months away from Halloween but I love making Halloween cards for all the kids (all adults), grandkids (all adults but for 1 mid-teen), and great-grands (all below high school age.)  Besides, there's an all Halloween challenge which I missed last month due to my COVID rehab so I want to be sure I play this month.  I think you can pretty much count on at least 1 Halloween post per month from this point on because I want to play along regularly.

My card for this month has an image from Beccy's Place, the cutest Halloween cat ever!

I used Sketch 205 from Sweet Sketch Weds 2, reversed.

Hello Sweet Friend

Something a little different from me today.   First of all, I'm posting 2 days in a row (!!) and that's a big deal since it's the first time I've been able to do that since the COVID hit me.  :-D  Second, I've tried a new coloring style, dot coloring, which I found looking at a challenge site called "Lift."

The image is from Conie Fong and it's called "Hello Little Friend."  This is my first DT card for April but I'll have one (or maybe two) more in the next week or two.

A Spring Bunny

It's time for the second challenge this month at QKR Stampede and I'm still celebrating springtime!   It's been 7 weeks since I was hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia (and sick 10 days before the hospital) and I'm slowly improving (excruciatingly slow, I might add.)  Still on oxygen and I take lots of rest breaks (and a couple of naps) each day but I'm doing my own cooking and can even wash my dishes by myself.  I can even shower without assistance!  lol

I'm not up to jaunts outside yet but when I look out my windows, I see signs of spring everywhere!   Daffodils are blooming in the garden and it's past time for the vegetables to have been planted but I may have to just skip that this year.  But my card, featuring "Bunny with Flowers" from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, is perfect for a delightful spring card!

My color combo was inspired by the photo at Time Out.

     Challenges:

Come play with us; the challenge runs until the last day in April and our theme is always "Anything Goes."  We love being inspired by you.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Rainy Days & Mondays...

I did my best to keep this one CAS because I wanted the image to be the focus.  The girl with the umbrella is this month's image for the Progressive Challenge at Stamper's Delights, and I added the raindrops which are from a set by Jan's Digi Stamps called April Showers.
