Wizard Spells

I love Halloween!  I love everything about it - the kids in costume, the sugar rush they get from the Trick or Treat goodies, the silliness of witches and wizard legends and traditions, and most of all making cards.  Halloween kind of makes Fall my favorite season!  :-D

Since this is Friday, we have a new challenge starting over at Crafty Catz and our sponsor this week is Dr. Digi.  They generously supplied images to the DT but I chose to use one from my own collection, called "Spells for Beginners."  Our theme is always "Anything Goes" but we also offer an optional twist and this week it's "Use a Die;"  I used three.

I colored with my Sanjoki markers, then used a QuicKutz die to cut the image.  I inked the edges so that it would stand out from the background.  The spiderweb background was made using scraps from paper by Doodlebug.  The spooky, black tree was cut using a die from Die-Versions, as were the bats.  I printed the sentiment and fussy cut it.  I inked the edges with a neon ProMarker.

     Challenges:
As You Like It (Fall because it has Halloween!)
Creative Knockouts (small die cuts)

I hope we're going to see you playing along in our challenge this week.  Anything you make is fine as long as you use at least 1 die.  Can't wait to see you there.

One Hot Date - oh, yeah!

This fun and funny image, Valentine Derek, is from Dr. Digi, our sponsor this fortnight at I Love ProMarkers and our newest challenge starts today.  Our theme is "Flowers" and any beau who brings a bouquet like Derek's  (to say nothing of the chocolates!), deserves consideration for a date night.  :-D

I used my ProMarkers, of course, to color the image, then cut it and the frame using Tonic Studios dies.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I used my Linen embossing folder on the pink card front before adding a scrap piece of red lace which had been mounted onto black CS.

I used all the colors from My Favorite Things.

     Challenges:
Stamping Sensations
We Love Stamping

Come play with us this month.  Remember our theme is "Flowers" and we all know you have dozens of flowers (images or embellishments) in your collections so come on, get busy.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Mad Turkey !

Remember "Mad Cow Disease" from a couple decades ago?  Well, this is a completely different version (no disease, only behavior) but it has to do with Mad Turkeys in the USA and only in November.  lol   This is my DT card for I Love ProMarkers with an image from our sponsor, Dr. Digi, which is called "Tough Turkey."  Our theme for this challenge is "Make it Funny."

Nobody is taking this turkey to the oven (or anywhere else for that matter!)

I used ProMarkers (naturally) to color the image, then cut it with a Dare 2B Artzy die.  The card front is dry embossed and the diamond pattern ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I added three, small black gems, then fussy cut a sentiment and added it.  Fairly CAS but the 'white' space is brown.  :-D

     Challenges:
Inspiration Station (determined animals!)

I do hope you're going to come and play in our challenge.  Just put together something fun and funny an enter it for a prize from Dr. Digi.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Hard Days Knight

We're starting a new weekly challenge over at Creative Knockouts and our theme this week is "Funny Cards."  Our fun sponsor is Dr. Digi and they provided images for the DT to use on our sample cards.  I used an mage called "Hard Days Knight" and I think the brief, one-word sentiment says it all.  :-D  You do need to look closely and check out the knight's lance.  The poor dragon can't even read his morning newspaper in peace.  I'm sure the knight was trying to impress a fair lady but I doubt he succeeded.

I colored with my ProMarkers, then cut the image with a Gina Marie die.  I used my Linen EF on the blue, CS background and found a scrap of starry night dp in the basket.  The addition of sparkle twine was all the card needed to look finished.

     Challenges:

That's all for today.  Edited to add: I'm still suffering from the after effects of my second COVID vaccine (but marginally better - the nausea has stopped) so I'm squirreled away under the sheets for at least another day or two.

The Pug who Wanted to be a Reindeer

New month-long challenge starting today at Paper Funday and our theme is Anything Goes with an OPTIONAL twist of  "Summer Fun."  Good thing it's an optional twist since I clearly used this fun "Pugsly" image from our sponsor Dr. Digi to do a Christmas theme.  :-D

Pugsley is so disappointed to discover that Santa isn't hiring any new reindeer!  He had such high hopes and has been practicing his leaps into the sky (but he needs some additional magic flying dust.)  lol

Colored with ProMarkers and cut with a die from Dare 2B Artzy.  I used scraps of dp from the basket and have no idea what company made them but one is a patterned dp and the other a soft but shimmery gold dp.  The image is framed with a red, QuicKutz die cut, and it's mounted on Pop Dots for dimension.  The mittens and the stocking are die cuts from Cheery Lynn.

I used the sketch from My Favorite Things.

Enjoy the rest of your work week and come play with us this weekend (or sooner.)  You might want to check back this Saturday when Paper Funday is holding a "Christmas in July" blog hop with some lovely prizes and fun questions on each hop stop, including mine.  You can check my Saturday post and I'll have links to the staring point of the hop at Paper Funday.  :-D
