A Gnome's Christmas Tree

This adorable image is from Anne Fenton and she gave it to us for the Outlawz Progressive challenge.  I colored it with my Sanjoki markers, cut it with a Spellbinders square die, and cut the green frame with another die from that same set.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.

I found an old stack of Christmas papers from Recollections in my stash and chose the background paper from it.  Although it doesn't show very well in the photo, the ornaments on the background paper have glitter on them for a bit of sparkle on the card.  Beyond that, it's a very CAS card, very flat and suitable for mailing.

Snow Globe Christmas

One week into July and I'm still doing Christmas cards.  My stash has grown but only a little bit considering that I need around 100 cards this year.  I think I now have 5 done, maybe 6.  lol  But I'm making 1 (sometimes 2) each day so by the end of this month, I should be more than 1/3 of the way to my goal.

This lovely image comes from Conie Fong and it's called "Snow Globe Wishes."  Amazingly, Conie has put her entire Etsy store on sale at 25% off for three days, July 7, 8 and 9, calling it a 'Christmas in July' sale!  But all the images in the store are on sale, not just Christmas images.  It started yesterday and two more days isn't very long so better get over there right now.

I colored this lovely lady with Sanjoki markers, then cut her out using a Spellbinders die.  I layered her onto a snowflake-embossed panel and that was layered onto a scrap of dp from K & Co. which has die cut borders.  I fussy cut the sentiment, added it to a lower corner, then added the three tiny pearls to the upper corner.  I think this is a delightfully 'elegant' Christmas card.

     Challenges:
Christmas Bingo ('O' free/pattern dp/emboss)
Polkadoodles

We'd love to see you playing in our challenge over on Facebook.  All you need to do is use a Conie Fong image (and since you are now rushing off to the 25% off sale, you'll have that part handled!) and the theme is always Anything Goes.  Come on over and play.

The Snowman's Christmas Tree

After making nearly 75 Christmas cards to donate to my local Seniors Center, I had scraps of small this and that lying all over my work table so I dug out all of my metal Christmas dies and started cutting up the scraps.  Before I knew it, I had another dozen cards and a plastic baggie full of cut but not yet used pieces.  :-D

It seems that each card I put together became a favorite but I think this one best shows off what can be made from simple scraps of plain CS.  The snowman dies are from Cheery Lynn and the tree die is made by Dee's Distinctively.  I cut the tree twice from 2 different shades of green and when layered all together, it almost looks like there's snow on the tree.

The sentiment was cut with Die-Versions dies.

Christmas is Just Around the Corner!

Can you  believe tomorrow is the first day of autumn?  That means Thanksgiving (in the US & Canada) and Christmas are closing in faster than you can believe, less than 100 days now.   The House Mousies  know this and they're already decorating for the Christmas holidays.  The theme at House Mouse this fortnight is the usual "Anything Goes" (with a House Mouse image) but it has an option of "Christmas Around the Corner."

I adore this darling House Mouse carrying his candy cane across the 'tightrope' of a light string.  You just know instinctively that he's going to hang the cane as decoration.

I used ProMarkers on the image and heat embossed clear EP to create the 'shine' around the tree lights.  I used one of my oldest Spellbinders dies, a simple rectangle, to cut the image.  The dp with the tree is from K & Co., and the text dp is from a very old scrapbooking stack by DCWV.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.

     Challenges:

OK, one more Christmas card in the stash but the stash is growing more slowly than I'd like.  I guess I'd better get on the ball here and add one or two Christmas cards each week.  So many of mine have to be mailed which means my deadline is actually earlier than most.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Decorated Tree Gift Tag

There are two earlier posts today so scroll down to see those.  This is an incredibly busy DT post day since the First of the Month fell on a Friday and I have a total of 4 DT posts for today.  :-D

Another Friday and a new challenge at QKR Stampede, where our main theme is always Anything Goes.  But we also offer a twist which is optional and you can use it or not.  This week the option is to do "Christmas Tags."

I chose the "Decorated Tree" image from QKR and cut my tag to fit the shape of the tree.

I colored the tree with ProMarkers and added glitter to the star.  I used Wink of Stella on the ornaments for a bit of shine.  I punched a hole in the top and added sparkly metal ribbon.

     Challenges:

A Perfect Time to Craft

I hope we're going to see you play along this week.  We always get as inspired by yours creations as you do from ours.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie
