Hot Drinks in Winter

No matter what kind of hot drinks you like - coffee, tea, chocolate - they are a survival necessity in the dark days of January (and February, and even March for some of you!)  Scrapper's Delights has this darling image of a young man and his hot winter drink for their Progressive Challenge.

Too Much Christmas Candy

When I first saw this silly bird at Bugaboo Stamps/Catch the Bug, I knew without question that his expression was a direct result of too much Christmas candy!  I remember the years when my kids (grandkids & even great grands now as well) went straight for their stockings on Christmas morning because that's where Santa always put all the candy.  Often, unless parental control was exerted, they ended up looking slightly nauseated just like this bird and had no interest in the Christmas feast when it was spread on the table.  :-D

I used the sketch from Stella Says Sketch
adjusted for a square card instead of an A2.

Playing in the Snow

I adore Magnolia Stamps' Tildas and all their various adventures.  Of the few companies whose rubber stamps I kept in my collection when I went digital, Magnolias were first and I must have close to 75 of them, collected over the years.  So, having shared that information with you, I'm ashamed to admit this particular stamp had never been inked before.  I've now corrected that neglect.  :-D

Nothing I say is going to do justice to the sparkle on this card.  The sparkle just doesn't show up no matter how I try to photograph it.  Sigh...

The image is colored with Copics and ProMarkers, then cut and corner-punched with a Fiskars punch.  I found a large scrap of lace, laid it across a piece of shimmery, deep red, dp and tucked the edges to the back where I adhered them with double-sided tape.  After the image was added, I used glue and glitter to the snowflakes in the image and on the flowers in the lace.

While the glitter was drying, I dug out some glittered CS and cut the "Merry Christmas" sentiment with a die from Die-Versions.  Unfortunately, I simply could not capture the sparkle on the sentiment but it's there.  I tied one of my favorite bow-tie bows using red, polka dot ribbon and added it.  My final touch was to add two, small, sparkly, Card Candi dots; one is on her hat and the other in the lower corner of the image piece.

Egg Delivery

Two Easter cards within a few hours of each other!  Well, I did warn you last weekend that I was behind on getting Easter cards finished so I've been playing catch up.   This one I did as my DT card for the QKR Stampede "Anything Goes" challenge which starts this morning.

Bunnies at Easter time have always been my favorites, despite all the cute little chicks and ducklings.   When I was a child, bunnies were more fun because they would sit quietly in one's lap and let you stroke their soft fur while chicks and ducklings wanted to jump down and scramble around looking for bugs or seeds or something-or-other.  The idea of a bunny hiding eggs was a delightful and somewhat unexpected fantasy since bunnies don't lay eggs.  :-D

On this card, I combined two different images from one of our sister companies, Eureka Stamps; "Bunch of Bunnies" and "Bunch of Eggs."  Remember, even though I give you links to the digi stamps, nearly all the QKR and Eureka stamps come in rubber as well.  These two do.

I kept this one as CAS as I could.  I colored using ProMarkers, then cut the Bunch of Bunnies with an oval die from Spellbinders, and embossed around the edge.  I fussy cut the Bunch of Eggs, then arranged the images one above the other so that the bunnies were looking down at the eggs.

I printed and hand-cut the sentiment and put it below the images.  I found one of my Fiskars corner punches and used it on the lower corners.  Finally, I found sheer, burgundy ribbon to wrap and tie around the top of the card.
