"F" is for Fireplace, Flames, Fussy Cutting, and Fancy Folds

As you can tell from the title, it's another day playing in the 30 days of Holidays challenges at Beccy's Place where Beccy is using the alphabet for the daily themes, and today is all about the "F"s; no, not the kind you may have gotten on a book report when you didn't read the book.  In card making terms, I have a fancy, gate fold card which features a fireplace, flames, and various other add-ons, all of which were fussy cut!

This time I started with one of Beccy's pre-colored images.  The fireplace and all the accompanying elements are part of Beccy's Hearth Set.  I fussy-cut (meaning cut by hand) around one side of the fireplace, then cut out the log & flames, the stockings, and the jar of candies.  I adhered most of those pieces on Pop Dots.

I found the green dp in one of my Bo Bunny pads.  Because of the size of the fireplace, I had already decided to do one larger flap and one smaller flap for the gate fold.  I scored the folds at 3 1/4 inches from the left and 1 3/4 inches from the right.  I added the green dp to the left flap.  On top of the dp, I added the fireplace with the fussy cut side hanging off the edge. The right flap I left plain, no paper, and added the sentiment to the upper corner.

A bit of gold sparkly ribbon added to the left front along with a bow and I decided that was more than enough embellishment.  I wanted the fireplace scene to have center stage and not be obscured by other goodies.

Great take on the F challenge, Miss Connie, and such a beautiful use of the designer paper behind the pretty fireplace. Beccy always does a wonderful job in her color choices, doesn't she? I don't recall seeing this image before - it looks great! And the little sentiment is even fussy cut to resemble a fat stocking! Cute card! hugs, de
