Dance on Your Birthday

It feels like forever since I used an AuroraWings image and I'd almost forgotten how wonderful they are to color.  I really wish the sparkle in the ribbon had photographed better but I guess you'll just have to take my word for how bright and blingy it is.

I started with the sketch from Sweet Sketch Weds.,
turned a quarter turn.

Bloomin' Boots

This is my last GDT card for Colour Crazy but I've been invited to join the team next fall.  :-D  The theme is always "Anything Goes" and we do require hand coloring on your projects.  My card today uses an image from Conie Fong called "Bootiful Bouquet."

I colored with ProMarkers and gel inks, then cut the image with an Unbranded die from Cheapo Dies.   I framed the die cut with pearls and added one of my signature, hand-sewn bows.

I printed the sentiment, cut it by hand, and added it below the boots.  I really love that image!  This is the first time I've used it but definitely not the last.

Bottled Heather

I have strong Irish roots in my family tree and, while I've never been there myself, I remember one of my great-uncles sharing about the wonderful scent of heather when it was blooming on the 'moors' in Ireland.  Every time I see this particular bottle image from MHK Designs (Beautiful Bottles set), I think of him.

I also used flowers from another set by MHK Designs.  I thought they really worked well together and provided exactly what I wanted for the sketch.

I started with the sketch from The Outlawz.

I used my ProMarkers to color both the bottle and the flowers.  I fussy cut all of the pieces and then used a die from QuicKutz (oval with scallops) and another die from Spellbinders (plain oval) to cut the framing pieces from (my favorite color) purple and lavender CS.

The diagonal cut, kraft CS was embossed with my "Linen" folder and then attached to the card front.  I layered on the ovals and added the bottle and flowers, centering them as much as possible to fit the A2 card width.  One row of purple rhinestones and a small sheer bow finished off the card in style.  I do believe that those tiny bows I sew up are my favorite embellishments of all time.  I make  them by the dozens and always have them in my stash.  Mostly I make them from white ribbon because then they can be 'dyed' with markers I've used in my coloring to match whatever color I want for the cards.  Besides, bows work on either fancy or CAS cards, for gals or for guys.  A very versatile embellishment.  :-D

Spread Your Wings

I've always had a fascination with mythology and Pegasus is one of my favorite creatures.  I have a dear friend who shares that particular love so I made this birthday card just for her.  The image is from Fabrika Fantasy and is a new one for me.

This time I colored the image with chalks and I framed it with the outer piece left over from a die cut (Spellbinders die)  I used on another project.   The purple paper was a great match for this lavender image, done by mixing blue and pink chalks.  It's amazing what one can do simply by saving the scraps and negatives of other die cuts.  I mounted that whole piece onto a card base and then added the bling and the one flower.

Soft Autumn

I was over browsing around the Ching-Chou Kuik blog, then strolled over to their Etsy shop and found this image which jumped in my cart without even asking!  lol  I brought it home and made this early autumn card.

The image is printed directly onto the card front.  I colored her with my ProMarkers, then inked the edges of the card front to give it a bit of a frame.  I printed the sentiment, hand cut it and inked the edges of it.  I added the dark brown pearls and decided it was finished.  A nicely CAS design.

I do hope fall is truly right around the corner.  We've suffered through the longest, hottest summer recorded in the last 25 years!   We've had more than 50 days over 100 degrees F when we normally have 30 or 31.  At least yesterday and today we've been in the highest 90s but haven't broken into triple digits so there's hope.  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Please continue to leave comments.  The "Word Verification" really isn't on.  BLOGGER INSISTS ON SHOWING THE "CAPTCHA" ICON BUT IF YOU IGNORE IT AND JUST PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT, IT WILL POST JUST FINE.  I WISH I COULD GET RID OF IT BUT THERE'S NO OPTION FOR THAT WHEN THE COMMENTS ARE WRITTEN IN A SEPARATE BOX. SORRY.

Wedding Card

New challenge today at 613 Avenue Create and we're sponsored by the generous and wonderful Paper Shelter!  I am growing my collection of their adorable images and having one more added is a pleasure.  Our theme this week (in addition to the Anything Goes which is always our theme) is "Congratulations" -- any event for which you might wish someone congratulations; wedding, anniversary, new baby, graduation, promotion or new job, ... you get the idea.  I used the "Wedding Couple" image from Paper Shelter.

The image is cut with a "Fleur de lis" die from Spellbinders and the sentiment was computer printed and then cut with the same die.  For the sentiment, I just cut the top and then shifted the position of the die to the bottom.  That set is all squares and none of them fit the shape of the sentiment so I did some adjusting.  I think the cut is rather interesting.

I added glitter ink to her gown and veil, pearls to the corners of the fancy die cut, and a bow I made using silver ribbon and a silver bead "pearl."  Although the background looks dark gray, it actually is a light bronze to match the shading in her gown.  But it has a metallic shimmer to it at certain angles and photographing it was a real chore.  Consequently, it looks dark gray in the photo, which is OK because that matches up with his tuxedo.  I've had that paper in my stash forever and still have 3 more sheets of it.  It's taken me that long to decide how to use it.  :-D

     Challenges:
ABC Challenge -- "O" is for Open
Aud Sentiments -- Anything goes
Bearly Mine -- Dies or punches
Catch the Bug -- Going to the Chapel
Crafting for all Seasons -- Wedding/anniversary
Emergency Crafters -- Pomp & Ceremony

I really hope this posts.  I'm having some intermittent problems with my internet connection but I don't know if that's affecting Blogger in any way.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and come play with us at 613 Avenue Create.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
