Something Wonderful Easter

     Today I have the honor of being a Guest Designer at Through the Craft Room Door.  Their theme is always "Anything Goes" and I decided on something for Easter.  Over the years, I've given up most of my rubber stamps, changing primarily to digital images because they require so little storage space.  I did keep this rubber Easter stamp (Bankes Vintage Stamps), mostly because I love the vintage aspect, and how it can look 'lineless' if stamped with light ink.  I used an ink pad called "Old Photo," a pale, sepia-brown ink.

I was inspired by the colors at Prika Crafts.

     I colored with ProMarkers and added the 'sponging' with chalks.  I chose two different Fiskars corner punches to shape the image corners after cutting it with a plain rectangle die from QuicKutz.  I printed the top sentiment and hand cut it, but the bottom sentiment (Always Believe) comes from Clear Dollar Stamps (now closed.)

     The leafy vines were cut with a Cheery Lynn die and the mulberry paper flower was cut with a die from Spellbinders.  I added glitter to the flower petals and a gem stone to the center.  Everything was mounted onto an aqua card base.

Things that Go Bump in the Night

     Oooo, creepy things abound in the fall like witches and ghosts, and the harvested pumpkins are about to put on their jack-o-lantern faces!  I'm delighted to be a Guest Designer for Through the Craft Room Door this week.  Their theme is always "Anything Goes" and this week the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  I used this fun Halloween image from Bugaboo, "Scene It Halloween Witch."

     I colored with ProMarkers and cut the image with a cross stitch die from Lawn Fawn.  I printed the sentiment and cut it with another Lawn Fawn die.  Everything went onto an embossed card front.  I wanted a very CAS design to showcase the image.

Beautiful Bride

     I have the honor of being a Guest Designer at Through the Craft Room Door this week and the challenge is being sponsored by Digistamps4Joy.  I used their lovely "Bedazzled Bride" image.

     I challenged myself this time to try doing white-on-white again.  I've tried it a few times in the past and have never been happy with the results.  However, I admit to really liking this one and being proud of it.  :-D

     I did color some of the image with ProMarkers (her skin & hair) and a bit of gold paint pen to highlight the embroidery on her dress.  I used an out-of-the-box technique to die cut the image with one of my oldest dies from Spellbinders.  I layered that onto two more die cut frames, both by Spellbinders, and I used dimensional tape to separate the layers, adding texture and dimension.  Both of the lower layers are "Linen" embossed with a folder.

     I decided that I really wanted to showcase the die cuts so I didn't add any flowers, or lace, or ribbons, or any of the more common embellishments for wedding cards.  I think it's more than enough as it it.

For Your Vintage Birthday

     I have a dear friend who loves it when I use green & yellow as a combo for my cards and she is always telling me that she's not old, she's simply "aged like a vintage wine."   So, here's the card I made for her birthday a week ago.  I created it as my DT card for Through the Craft Room Door this week and our new challenge has the usual "Anything Goes" theme.  Our marvelous sponsor this week is Oozak.

     The image is from Sandi Huggett (Sandi's Samples), called "Lady Kathleen" and I colored her with a combination of ProMarkers, Spectrum Noir, and Touch Twin markers.  The sparkle in the corners of the die cut is created with Cloud 9 Velvet Glitter from Sparkle n Sprinkle.  For a full materials list, please visit the TTCRD blog post this week.

Flower Ballerina Fairy

     I've done this card for Through the Craft Room Door, where our theme is always "Anything Goes."  Our sponsor this challenge is AuroraWings and I totally love coloring their images!   I used this one ("Flower Ballerina") to make a birthday card.

     I used ProMarkers to color the ballerina fairy and a die from Spellbinders to cut it.  All the ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and you can read all the details in the September issue of Through the Craft Room Door magazine.

Roses for Love

     I have the honor of being a GDT at Through the Craft Room Door this week, where the challenges are always "Anything Goes."  I got to use a digital image drawn by Sandi Huggett, one of my favorite artists.  I first got to know Sandi and her work over at The Outlawz.  Here's one of her incredible flower images.

     I colored the roses with my ProMarkers, then die cut it with one of those wonderful framing dies by Spellbinders.  I cut another frame with the die one size larger, using some dusty pink CS, and embossing it.  The dp is from Crafts, Etc., the "Sweet Pea" stack.  The lovely, sheer, polka-dot ribbon came from Really Reasonable Ribbon and is one of my favorites.  I wish I had more of it in my stash.  The frames are so decorative and detailed that I decided to limit embellishment to just the ribbon.  That way, the focus is on the gorgeous roses!
