One of Those Days

It's the 15th of August, middle of the month, and I just want to give you a reminder that our monthly "Anything Goes" challenge is still going at QKR Stampede.  This fun and funny Eureka Stamps image (sister company to QKR) is called "Rainy Day Duck" and while he's not really depicting those rainy days which return in the fall, I did use autumn colors.  The image reminds me of the poor soul in the comics who seems to wander around under a dark cloud. :-D

Personally, out here in California, we'd love to have a rain cloud or two right now!  We'd call it the perfect kind of "summer fun!"  We had temperatures at 101F for the first four days of this week, then 105F yesterday, predicted for 107F today, and at least another 10 days with predicted temps as much as 10 degrees above normal, so well above 100F to come.  I'm staying indoors to craft happily in the air conditioning.  :-D

Hedgie Laundry

I'm sending this card to a recently-divorced, 30-something, dad-of-young-kids who suddenly became aware that he had no idea how to do laundry!  Inside I added a cute but very vintage list of which days were for which housekeeping chores.

How many of you remember the old song called "Rest on Sunday?"  My mother and my Grammy taught it to me when I was very young.  It went like this:

Rest on Sunday

Wash on Monday, Iron on Tuesday, Mend on Wednesday,

Market on Thursday, Clean on Friday, Bake on Saturday.

Then you have all day to Rest on Sunday.

I remember we had dish towels in our kitchen with the chores embroidered on them, too.  :-D

This adorable image is from Penny Black.

Colored with water colors & gel pens

I'll have another cute Penny Black image to share with you later this week but for today. this is all I have.  After three separate posts yesterday, I'm tired!  lol  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Another GDT Spot - Outlawz Twisted Thursday

I'm serving as yet another Guest Designer and this one is a bit of a homecoming.  I used to be on the DT for the Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz!  Now, I'm playing Guest Designer for the month of April.

Our lovely sponsor is STAMPLorations (that's one of their images) and the theme is "Maps or Signs."  I did a hand-drawn sign pointing the way to my morning cup of coffee.  There are a lot of mornings when I get up but my brain is foggy and my eyes are half closed.  It's those morning when I could use a good sign pointing the way to the coffee pot.  :-D

Doesn't this stamp make you think about sitting in a garden on a spring day, sipping coffee, and reading a good book?
