Christmas Feet

It's Day 6 of the daily challenges for Holiday Chaos at Catch the Bug and today there's an Inspiration Photo for all to follow.  I used the colors from the photo, focusing on the red, white, and gray, plus reindeer feet (among the others).

And here's my project, a gift card holder, using a Bugaboo Stamps image.

Day 17,"O" - Beccy's Place 30 Days of Christmas

One more day and another letter of the alphabet ("O") for a prompt in the 30 Days of Christmas at Beccy's Place.  Instead of doing another card, I've started making gift card holders using instructions I found on YouTube.  You'll see several of them over the next 10 days or so.  Not only do I need some, my daughter wants a half dozen or so for her stash.  :-D

Here's the first one, inspired by the letter "O" - Ornament and Octagon.  The image is Beccy's "Stanley's Bauble", which I think of as an Ornament.

Colored with pencil, blended with gamsol
Glitter added to the Ornament
Image cut with Octagon die from QuicKutz
Embossed CS used to make the folder
White satin ribbon for the tie

Here's a photo of the inside of one of these gift card folders, although not this one as you can tell from the color of the folder and the embossing.

I'm making a sentiment piece for the other slot but it has glitter on it and that's still drying.

Holiday Chaos Day 3 - Gift Card Holder

Today is Day 3 of the week-long, Holiday Chaos daily challenges at Catch the Bug.  I'm up to date on making projects for the challenges and today we need to make some form of gift wrap, gift bags, gift card holders - you get the idea.  I did a gift card holder using this cute little Santa from Bugaboo Stamps.

This is the front of the gift cardholder.  I decided to use basic red and white, my favorite Christmas color combo, then colored the image with ProMarkers and paint pens (a tiny touch of silver and gold.)  I cut it with a QuicKutz die.  The sentiment was cut with a die from Die-Versions and all the little snowflakes were done with Art Impressions dies.

     The inside looks like this:

The card is actually a gate fold card, but the inside flap is adhered at top and bottom to make the pocket for the gift card.  I don't have the gift card yet so I just tucked a piece of CS into the pocket for visual definition.  The plaid paper bits were scraps from my desk and came from a stack by Your Next Stamp.

Gift Card Holder

This is my project for the 3rd day of the Christmas in July challenges at Catch the Bug.  So far, I've managed to play each day and I'm doing my best to keep time clear each morning for creating that day's card.  The theme today is to make a gift or a gift card holder.  Since I'm always in need of gift card holders over the holidays, I make lots of these.

The one today is made with an image from Bugaboo Stamps.

I colored with ProMarkers, including ProMarker silver metallic pens on the bells and stars on the tree, then added glitter to the snowflakes and the dot in the "i" of Christmas.  I die cut the image with a rectangle die from QuicKutz, and inked the edges.

This is an all-in-one card and envelope.  The image piece was mounted onto the central section of what would become the inside of the 'envelope' for the gift card.  I trimmed the top edge to make a wide arrow-point, then used my Scor-Pal to score across the width about 2 inches below the top, again just below the image piece, and once more 2 inches up from the bottom of the CS.  I folded at each of the score lines, then cut the very bottom into a dove-tail.  I used double-sided tape to adhere the folded up, bottom flap to the card back along the outside edges, making the slot for the gift card.

The image will fold down onto the gift card, and the arrow-point flap seals it closed.  The back side of the card is the outside of the envelope and, because the image is inside, there's plenty of room for the recipient's name (and address, if being mailed.)  The green CS is in the pocket just to show where the gift card will be.
