Hedgie & Snail

This is another image from Mariola Budek, the artist I recently discovered and I think it's a perfect spring showers image.  Around here, we WISH we'd had many more spring showers than we actually had but instead we are in a severe drought.  In addition, we are expecting our first over 100F heat wave for at least the next 5 days.  I think I'll stay inside in the air conditioning, stare at this cool green card, and dream of rainy days.  :-D

I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Colored w ProMarkers & gel pens
Cut w Unbranded die
Black mat cut w Unbranded die
Background papers are all scraps
Flower embellies made from negative die cuts
(the pieces which fall out when you use certain dies)

E for Exhausted!

I remember the days when I used to go out and fight the crowds to get my Christmas shopping done.  I hated every minute of it and always felt totally drained afterward.  As each year rolled by, it felt more and more like a chore and less and less like a fun shopping trip.  With the advent of internet browsing, I finally quit in store Christmas shopping altogether!  Now I do it all online and often have everything done by the end of August or mid-September at the latest.  :-D

When I saw this cat image from Beccy's Place, I knew I could turn it into the most fun card for her 30 Day of Holidays, using it to express the "E" of her alphabet theme.  Yes, E for "E"xhaustion!

I based my card design on the sketch at Sketch Saturday,
flattening and stretching it to accommodate
 the direction of my image.

I colored the cat with my ProMarkers, then added some strokes of white gel ink.  I used an Unbranded, stitched, frame die to cut the image.  The red CS is "E"mbossed with a poinsettia folder from Darice.  Four of the "E"mbellishment packages are handmade from scrap bits and pieces, then mounted with Pop Dots.  The two smallest packages are simply stickers which have been in my Christmas stash for who-knows-how-long?   The patterned dp was a leftover scrap from a Recollections stack and the glittery poinsettia also came from my stash.
