And the Turkey Says, "Eat Beef"

It's Friday and we have another new challenge beginning at QKR Stampede and we always have an "Anything Goes" theme.   I managed to get this one done early so it was completed before the flu symptoms hit me last week.

I used an image from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, called "Eat Beef."  You can believe he's saying "Thanks" to all who take his advice about the menu.  :-D

I colored with ProMarkers and cut the image with a stitched die from Lawn Fawn.  Both the dp and the golden CS were scraps on my craft desk and they worked with the colors of the image.  I used brown jute cord to make the bow and added three sets of three brads to corners of the image.

     Challenges:
Brown Sugar
Crafting from the Heart
Crafty Gals Corner
Creative Fingers
Cute N Crafty
Ellibelle's Crafty Weds.
Fussy and Fancy
I {heart} ProMarkers
Simon Says Stamp
Work It Weds.

All About Gratitude

"No matter how much or how little," my dad used to say, "it's all about the gratitude."  I borrowed that for the sentiment on my card for the challenge at QKR Stampede this week.  As always, our theme is "Anything Goes" but we have an optional twist of "Give Thanks."  I used the image "Dog with Bone" and put this fun card together.  Can't you just see the gratitude for that huge bone oozing out of him?  Look at that contented smile.

I used my ProMarkers to color that handsome rascal, and cut him with a square die from Spellbinders.   All of the papers were scraps which were destined for the trash unless they weren't used so, of course, I used them.  That means I get to buy more papers to reward myself, you know.
 :-D

I thought that combo of two ribbons, one sheer and one satin, were enough embellishment since this one is in the mail to one of the fellows in the family and it needed to be CAS rather than overwhelmingly embellished.

     Challenges:
Classic DT Open
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper
Create and Inspire
Creatalicious
Creative Ladybirds
Die Cut Divas
Let's Craft and Create
Outlawz Festive Friday

A quick post today but I'll have a second one later on so be sure to stop by again.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

A Leafy Thanks

Today we start a new challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and the theme is "Thanks." Our wonderful sponsor is Deedee's Digis.  I just happen to be on both of those DTs so this was a really happy card for me.  I used the fun bear from Deedee's "Leave me Smiling" set and chose the pre-colored image which made it a much faster card to make.

This theme fit perfectly because I needed one more Thank You card for a local non-profit group and, since they raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes education, awareness, and for scholarships to the summer camps for diabetic kids they put on, it's an agency near and dear to my heart.  My grandson is now 9 years old and was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes 18 months ago.  One of the Board Members had to resign from the organization because he and his family were moving out of town and the Board Chairman needed a card to say thanks for his service on the Board.  Since the name of the organization is "Smiles for Diabetics," I thought this would be a great sentiment.

I used the sketch I found at Cheerful Sketches.

I embossed the orange CS with one of my newer folders before adding the image piece to it.  I used a Fiskars corner punch on the image, the orange mat, and the gray background CS.  I added one small metal brad as an embellishment and found the yellow leaf sticker in my stash so added it.  The top sentiment is part of Deedee's set and the bottom one I printed with a computer font.  Each one is hand cut and inked on the edges.

     Challenges:
Crafts Galore Encore
Creatalicious
CCC Digi
Digistamps 4 Joy
Dragonfly Journey
Lunagirl Moonbeam
Nordsalten Hobbyklubb
Petal Lu
Sisters of Craft
Sweet Stampin'
Tinker Dream

I hope we're going to see you playing along in our "Thank You" challenge at Tuesday Throwdown this week.  Remember, November is the month for "Thanks."  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Baby Bacchus Counts Blessings

OK, another CAS card today using only a single layer and one ribbon for embellishment.  The image is by Rick St. Dennis, called "Baby Bacchus."  Isn't he fantastic?  He just looked like he should be on some kind of harvest card.  Since I lived for a long time in both of California's grape vineyard and wine country areas, I thought this would be a perfect California Thanksgiving card.  :-D

I took my colors from the challenge at
MFP Speedy TV -- Rust, Blue and Green

I loved coloring this image!  It really lends itself to great shading and depth.  It's colored with ProMarkers.  The sentiment is done with a computer font and printed right onto the card front at the same time I printed the image.  I added the rust ribbon and tied a bow.  That was it!  Done in minutes.

     Challenges:
Artistic Inspirations
Digistamps 4 Joy
Eureka Stamps
House That Stamps Built
Male Room
Outlaws Greeting Cards
Paper Shelter
Through the Purple Haze

That's it for today.  Hope your weekend is going well and that you have some wonderful "Me" time.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
