Panda Birthday, II

Here's the second birthday card featuring a Panda for the birthday party shared between my SIL and her granddaughter, as I promised you yesterday.  This is the one for my SIL.

Again, I started with a pre-colored, clip art image which I cut with a Tonic Studios die, and matted it in white.  The plaid dp came from a Lawn Fawn stack and the bow is one of my hand-sewn, signature bows, dyed with a ProMarker and with a pearl sewn on.

There is an outside sentiment which I printed myself, and an inside sentiment which ties in with the outside sentiment.  It came from Beccy's Place and I know my sister-in-law will love it!  :-D

Panda Birthday

My sister-in-law and her granddaughter have birthdays this week and they will be celebrating them together.  My niece (SIL's daughter and granddaughter's mother) decided on a theme of panda bears.  While she and my daughter are working madly on decorations for the party, including making "bamboo" out of pool noodles and card stock leaves, I got started on birthday cards for each of them, and, yes, I did stick with the theme.  :-D  Today I'm sharing the one I made for my grandniece and will share the one for my SIL tomorrow.

I searched for clip art, panda images, preferably pre-colored to save time, and found two which I thought really worked well together.  I had to check with my niece to ascertain her daughter's favorite color and it turns out it's the same as my own favorite, PURPLE !  How delightful that it worked so well with the image I had chosen.

I embossed a scrap of CS and found another scrap, this time of dp, in the basket, using them to make the background.  The card was cut with a Tonic Studios die, then matted in white.  The sentiment came from Beccy's Place.  I finished the card by adding flowers and gems from Petaloo.

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow to see the card for my SIL.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

My First Valentine for 2021

I know we all wanted the New Year to arrive and for the whole Covid-19 thing to be over and done with the stroke of midnight, but I fear that a good majority of us will still be suffering from lockdowns and government restrictions on our activities for quite some time yet, so I'm already planning to mail Valentine cards to all the grandkids and great-grands in February.

For my first one (though I have no idea which kidlet will get it), I used this darling Panda Love Drops from Imagine That!'s Progressive Challenge.

I laid this out to fit the sketch at My Favorite Things
but with the sketch flipped.

Single Layer, tent style, CAS card
Pre-colored image
Baker's twine scrap

I also want to tell you about a fun "challenge-yourself" idea being promoted by my blogging buddy, V.  It's called "Just Stash January" and it involves using nothing but things already in your stash throughout the entire month of January!  There are a few reasonable exceptions (all of which mean that no money has come out of your pocket) and you can read about those on her post.  Just click on the link and find out all about it, then start counting those coins and bills you'll be 'stashing' in your pocket this month instead of crying about even more charges on the credit cards after the holiday season.  :-D  Everything on this card came from the stash!

That's all I have for today but here's wishing all of you Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Guest Designer for Tales from the Craft Room November Challenge

OK, by now you are probably well into your Christmas or other holiday cards but have you started on all the gift tags you will need?  No?  I hadn't either until Jo invited me to be a Guest Designer at Tales from the Craft Room this month.  Because the challenge theme is "Tags," that got me started and I have 6 done plus two or three gift card holders.

This one with the adorable little Panda from Digi Doodle Studios was the first one I made.  It's called "Chuie Panda Christmas Tag" if you go looking for it in their store.

Colored with ProMarkers & silver/gold paint pens

Panda for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies

Today I have a total of 3 posts for you because not only is it Friday, my regular day for QKR Stampede, but it's also the 1st of the month when I post for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies and for SheepSki Designs.  This one is for 2 Crafty Critter Crazies but be sure to check back for the other two posts.  Our theme at 2 CCC is always "Anything Goes with a Critter Featured."

The sponsor at 2CCC today is Imagine That! and while they provided images for the DT to use, I chose one from my own collection of IT! images, this darling Panda.

I used a die from Sizzix to cut the image, and other stitched dies from Memory Box to cut the four circles of dp.  That dp is included in the image set and I think it's fantastic. It could be used for many projects, with or without the pandas.  The sentiment is printed and hand cut.

I'm going to use this for one of the boys in my family so I decided not to add any embellishments.

Baby Panda

I'm playing in another Progressive Challenge, this time at Sasayaki Glitter (Facebook Challenge) and, for the month of May, everyone who played along last month got this darling image.  I thought it would make a great new baby card.

I based my card on the sketch at Tuesday Throwdown
but I took the liberty of making my image round
and made the vertical strip from half circles and leaves.

I used ProMarkers to color the image, then cut it and the mat with circle dies from QuicKutz.  The half circles were leftover snippets from a circle which I had cut up for another project.  I used those for the vertical strip and then layered on the leaves (cut from more CS snippets with a Cheery Lynn die) and the flowers.   The pink flower is heat embossed with white EP.   I added three glittered flowers to the bottom and added gems for the three dots on the sketch.

     Challenges:
Whoopsi Daisy (Digi/Dies/Flowers)

That's all I have for today and it may be all there is until Friday unless I find some way to tear myself away from the list of "must do" chores which seems to be getting longer and longer.   I wish it was filled with crafty things instead of clearing, cleaning, & organizing.  :-(  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Sketch, Panda, and QKR Stampede

Good Friday morning to all of you!  Another new challenge is starting at QKR Stampede this morning and this week we have a sketch challenge.  It's a great sketch; very versatile and fun to use.

Here's my version and I used QKR Stampede Digi 24320 Panda and Digi 15810 Huggable for the sentiment.

It may be a bit hard to tell in the photo but this is an easel card.   I left the image black and white, cut it with one of my oval dies from Spellbinders, and added an oval mat, also die cut.  The leaves are cut with my favorite die from my collection of Cheery Lynn dies.  The striped background dp is from SU and has been in my stash more or less forever!  :-D  I added a few green sequins for some sparkle and bling.  Can you believe there are 5 different layers on this otherwise CAS design, not counting the leaves or sequins?

     Challenges:

That's all for today but we do hope you're going to play along at QKR Stampede this week.  Use the sketch as your basic design and remember you can use any image you like.  If you happen to use an image by QKR, your card will be entered to a separate drawing just for those who used QKR images and that means your chances of winning increase dramatically.  See you there.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
