A Dog's Life

OK, ok, I know many of you are going to be in shock when you see the image I chose to use on my DT card for the new challenge at QKR Stampede this week, where the theme is "Dogs or Cats."   With a theme like that, those of you who are friends or who visit here regularly will be expecting to see a feline image, right?  Sorry.  It's time to clear up the misconception that I'm a 'crazy cat lady.'

Actually, I'm a crazy ANIMAL lady!  I love cats and dogs equally but for the last few years, it's been the felines who've let me share their home, feeding and caring for them, cleaning their litter box and otherwise tending to their demands needs.  <--They made me change that!

So, today, I'm honoring the canine side of the theme.  :-D  Let's face it, nothing is more dedicated than a dog.  Retrievers are dedicated to chasing anything thrown for them.  Chihuahuas are dedicated to barking at every sound or motion.  Poodles are dedicated to strutting their stuff.  And some dogs are just dedicated to napping and laying claim to their personal space.  :-D

This image (Digi 6601 "Spoiled Dog"Digi 14619 "Dog's Life") was colored with ProMarkers then cut with a die from Spellbinders.  The sentiment was hand cut, inked on the edge, and adhered to the image piece.

I also die cut a mat out of dark brown CS, layered it onto the striped dp (DCWV) and ran both of those layers through an embossing folder to make the pawprints.  I added one of the small bows I make and used it as the only embellishment since this card will be for a guy.

     Challenges:

We're only hours away from the start of another weekend and I have great plans for getting away from it all while never straying more than a couple of miles from my home.  Hope your plans include rest and relaxation in whatever form suits you best.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

I have to say that I WAS expecting a cat image from you!! LOL!! But boy is this a cutie too!! Your coloring is awesome and I do love the texture of the paw prints over your background papers!! I am a dog lover myself and don't usually tend to use cats, but I sure enjoying seeing what everyone comes up with because they are so cute too!! :) HUGS

This is so cute! I have to agree, dogs are very dedicated companions! Cats are quite cute, regal, funny, demanding, spoiled, but seldom do we think of them as dedicated…….at least not to us humans! hahaha This dog has great colors/markings and the sweetest little expression!

Connie, this is adorable! I have a snoring dog at my feet right now. She's one of those Retrievers dedicated to having something in her mouth at all times -- but also highly dedicated to napping. As she ages, she snores loudly. Do they make Breathe Right strips for dogs? Thanks so much for joining our Dedication challenge this month at Path of Positivity. This card fits our theme so well!
