Angels Watching Over Us

For those of you in the USA, I hope your Thanksgiving was warm and wonderful and that you counted all your blessings.  We have so much in this country and others have so little.

Today starts the real Christmas rush but I simply refuse to participate in 'Black Friday.'  I'd rather be crafting than fighting the crowds.  Today at QKR Stampede, we're starting a new challenge and our theme is "Angels," so appropriate for yet another Christmas card.  If you haven't started yet, Christmas is exactly 4 weeks away.  Yikes!

I based my design on the sketch from The Sweetest Thing.

I used Digi 14809 "Sitting on the Moon" for the image and Digi 10804 "Angels Watching" for the top sentiment.  I colored the image with my ProMarkers, then added glitter to her wings and the moon.  It doesn't show very well in the main photo but here's a closeup that shows how much it actually sparkles.

I used one of my newer die sets to cut the image and the frame for it.  The background dp with the 'polka dot' stars is from DCWV and the ribbon came from my stash.

     Challenges:
Always Playing with Paper
Christmas at Sweet Stampin'
Christmas Card
Clear It Out

I hope you'll find time to craft something with an angel and come play with us at QKR Stampede.  Remember, you can use any image but if you use something from QKR Stampede, your card will be entered into a draw just for those who used one of our images and that significantly increases your chances of winning.  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Love You More

Happy Friday -- that wonderful, glorious day which ushers in the weekend!  It also heralds a new challenge at QKR Stampede and this week our theme is "Hearts."  Obviously, that gave me a chance to do another Valentine card using Digi 24266, "Love You Mouse."

I started the card design by using
the sketch from The Sweetest Thing.

I colored the image with my ProMarkers and fussy cut the mouse.  In the original image, he has a shadow mouse on the right hand side but I cut it off and used just the mouse.  The heart shapes are all cut with dies from Spellbinders, except the actual white sentiment piece which is cut by hand.  The papers are from Authentique and BoBunny, new papers for me and I absolutely love them!

The mouse is raised from the plaid heart on dimensional dots, though that doesn't really show very well in the photograph.  The little gems in the middle of the smallest hearts were in my stash for who-knows-how-long!

     Challenges:
Aud Sentiments
Country View Crafts
Crafty Hazelnut's Pattern Paper
Crafty Sentiments Designs

What a great day.  The massive storm has subsided in the northeast, it's foggy and quiet here in my neck of the woods, the cats are all curled up together keeping each other warm, and it's a perfect day for crafting!  Enjoy and I hope we'll see you playing at QKR Stampede this week.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Frightfully Delightful

It's Friday so that means a new challenge at QKR Stampede and this week our theme is "Frightfully Delightful."  Dig out those Halloween stamps -- either frightful or delightful -- and play along.  You could win some fabulous images!   My card is done using Digi 12303, "Jack-O-Lantern."  The sentiment is my own.

Sketch from The Sweetest Thing
turned on its side.

The image is colored with ProMarkers and die cut with the largest die in one of my Spellbinders sets.  The papers have been in my stash for so long I can't even remember buying them.  Each of the papers were corner punched so that they would look like the die cut image piece.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the little bow is one of those I make myself.  I dyed it with a ProMarker to get that mango-orange shade.  The pearl swirl seemed to say "windy autumn" and the leaf is made by Jolee's.

Bearly Mine
Come and Get It
Crafty Hazelnut's
