Snowmen or Snowflakes

Let me start by wishing each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas!   I hope your day is filled with family and friends and Christmas blessings.  When the gifts are opened and the meal has been enjoyed, maybe you'll find a bit of time to visit a few blogs.  Just in case you do, we have a new challenge starting today over at QKR Stampede.  Our new theme is Snowmen or Snowflakes.  You can use any image you like and if you want to use one from QKR, there are so many cute and loveable snowmen.  Just check out the store.

I chose to use Digi 5303 "Hitch Hiking Snowman" but to me, he's just offering a hand of friendship.  :-D  On the other hand, maybe he's looking for a ride to someplace colder, filled with lots of snow.

I used the colors in the challenge at Paper Sweeties.

I used ProMarkers and glitter to color the image, then cut it with one of dies from Spellbinders.  The "Merry" sentiment is cut with a die from Memory Box.  The paper has been in my stash forever and those are both scrap pieces.  I found sequins and glittery snowflakes to add as embellishment but still kept the card as CAS as possible.

Giving Thanks at Path of Positivity

Today I'm honored to announce that I was invited to be a Guest Designer for Path of Positivity in their "Gratefulness" challenge.  There are two wonderful sponsors this month: Kitten Scraps and Scribbles Designs.  This card features a wonderful set (November Set) from Kitten Scraps.  There are actually 3 different sets for November; one with a masculine theme, one with a feminine theme and one that's neutral.  But if you buy it as the "November Set," you'll get all three sets in one!  This is my first time using Kitten Scraps products and they're fabulous!  Great for either cards or scrapbook pages.

I decided on my colors by checking the challenge at Paper Sweeties
and also found myself  inspired to include that particular background dp.

I combined the boy and girl images before printing and then fussy cut the turkey and popped him up on dimensional dots.  The text papers are also part of the set.  I added the ribbon and tied a bow, then layered on the sentiment.  Fairly simple design but I really wanted to show off the pilgrim characters and not have a lot of distractions.

     Challenges:

It's windy, the skies are getting dark, and there's a storm brewing so maybe we'll get a few sprinkles of rain out of it.  What a great excuse to stay indoors and get some more crafting done!  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Let's Play Army

My grandson just turned 9 and he wanted to do an Army theme for his party.  My daughter has a friend who's a Sgt. in the National Guard, and she brought all kinds of gear and desert camo stuff for decorating, including a bivouac tent, cots, and sleeping bags.  Everyone showed up wearing some kind of camo clothing.

We made MREs (Meals, Ready to Eat) for each child, filled with typical birthday treats.  We also made up door prize bags for each kid to take home.  They ran and played Nerf Dart tag, then divided into teams and competed with each other on treasure hunts and other games.

In keeping with the military theme, I did this card with an adorable image from Bugaboo Stamps.

I pulled my colors from Paper Sweeties
because they made it easy to do the camo and the boots.

A really CAS design, colored with my ProMarkers, but perfect for his birthday.

Digistamps 4 Joy (birthday, boy)
