Thankful ?

I think the image I used on today's card is an old one from Eureka Stamps but to tell the truth, I printed it out last year, didn't label it, and am guessing.  If I'm wrong and you know who drew this image, please let me know.  I believe in giving credit to the artists when I know who they are.

I colored the image with Ohuhu markers and added highlights with a white gel pen.  I cut the image with a  QuicKutz die and cut the frame with a second die from that same set.  The frame is brown CS.   The background paper is dry embossed with one of my EF, but I don't remember which one.  It has a 'leather' look and feel.  I added a tiny, double layer, butterfly which had a little seed bead for the body.  Despite the butterfly, I plan to use this as a masculine card for one of my great-grandsons.

Christmas Balloon

A fast post this morning to show you a fast card I did at 1:00 this morning!  I'm pretty sure the balloon image is one from Eureka Stamps; I found it printed and in a folder of Christmas images from last year which were all waiting to be colored.

The background piece is the image from the Progressive Challenge at The Outlawz for September.  I've been meaning to get something done with it all month long and here it is, the 27 of September and I still hadn't made a card !  I happened to drop both printed pieces onto the craft desk next to each other, and I realized what a great background the Outlawz image would make for the balloon.

I grabbed my Sanjoki markers, did a bit of coloring on both the balloon and the background, then fussy cut the balloon, and layered it on top of the the card front where the background was already printed.  I though it need a bit more Christmas joy so I used a marker to add the red border on one side and at the bottom.  Done!  I had to wait until this morning to photograph it, but here it is.

That's all I have for now but tomorrow I'll have a new post for the next challenge at FarmQuest.  Do stop by and see what's new over there.

Purr-fect!

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Catz, where our theme is always Anything Goes but we also offer you an OPTIONAL theme, if you want to use it.  Our option this week is "Hot Colors" and all I have to do is look out the window of my craft room and I can see heat and hot colors far beyond anything I care to see!

When is this heat wave going to end?  We're on day 14 in a row of being over 100 F and the 'good' news from the weatherman this morning was we may stay at 100 F today instead of going above it.  I suppose that's better than 110 but once it reaches 100, it pretty much all feels the same.  And the heat wave doesn't officially end until we have 2 days in a row of  99 F or below.  Yuck!

Ok, information about my card - since we don't have a sponsor this week, we could use whatever we wanted on our DT projects.  I chose a cute image from Eureka Stamps called "Big and Little Cat" and a sentiment from QKR Stampede called "You're Purrfect."

I used Sanjoki markers to color the cat image and then fussy cut it with scissors. That image is mounted on dimensional dots.  I printed, colored (polychromos pencils), and cut the sentiment with a Die-namics die.  I found some lovely fiber paper for the background (DCWV), giving great texture to the entire design.

I used colors from CRAFTalnica.

     Challenges:

Come play with us this week.  It's our last challenge before we take a summer break throughout the month of August.  We'll be  back on the first Friday of September and I hope to be able to tell you that things have cooled down some.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Bouquet of Angels

I spent most of the afternoon yesterday making this card for one of the Deacons of our church who was hospitalized unexpectedly last week.  I dug into my collection of Eureka Stamps and found this beautiful angel image and both of the sentiments, outside and inside the card.

I colored the angel with my Sanjoki markers, keeping it simple (in the interests of getting it done right away) and found a sentiment about Bouquets of Angels which seemed to fit her perfectly.  I cut the image with a die from Tonic Studios and layered her onto a background of blue CS, trimmed to fit the card front.

No embellishments - it is a card for a guy, after all.

I did finish the inside with a decorated sentiment but
since I had already signed all the family names to it, I didn't photograph it.
The sentiment says, "With God, all things are possible and
we're praying you recover soon."

Turkey Day

Welcome to my next DT post for Through the Craft Room Door!  Our challenge themes are always "Anything Goes" and they now run for 2 weeks at a time.  This time, our sponsor is Eureka Stamps, sold by Stamp on It!  I chose this really fun, scribble drawing, called "Double Line Turkey."

I printed the digital image onto kraft paper, then colored with a black ProMarker and a white gel pen.  I highlighted between the double lines with a gold paint pen.  I used an octagon die from QuicKutz to cut the image and I inked the edges with another ProMarker.  I found a scrap of DCWV dp and layered it on top of a piece of brown CS.  I used sheer ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to wrap the card front and to tie the multi-loop bow.

     Challenges:

I hope you'll come and play in our challenge this fortnight.  Remember, Anything Goes so you have no excuse not to join.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Baby Animals for a Baby Card

It's November First and we're starting a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  The challenge will run through the 14th and a new one will start on 15 November.  Our theme is always "Anything Goes."

The  image I used today is from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, and it's called "Baby Animals."  My neighbor down the street needed a baby card for a soon-to-be-born great grandchild, unknown at this point whether it's going to be a boy or a girl.

I colored with water color paints, then cut the image with a Dare 2B Artzy die.  The background dp is from Recollections and was also cut with the same Dare B Artzy die, allowing me to inlay the image into the background.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I added one of my signature style, hand-sewn bows which has a pearl.

     Challenges:
Double Trouble  (all 3)

Hope we're going to see you playing along in our challenge this time.  Remember, we always have 2 winners - one drawn randomly from those who use a QKR Stampede or Eureka Stamps image, and one drawn from all the other entries.

Apple Snacks

It's time to start another challenge at QKR Stampede and the theme is always Anything Goes.

I was having a text conversation with a young teenager shortly before I started making this card and we were talking about the kinds of things people could accomplish in just 5 minutes.  Half way down her list, she said she could eat an apple in 5 minutes.  That triggered the sentiment on this card. lol

Both images are from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, and they are called "Apple" and "Apple Core" of course.  :-D  Most of the images from either QKR or Eureka are available in both rubber and digital, whichever your preference.  They are also amazingly priced without any need for sales.  Typically, digis run about $2 and rubber comes in at $3 to $3.50.

I printed the images together, but used a die from Cottage Cutz to cut them into rounded, stitched squares.  The sentiment was cut with an Avery Elle die.  I used ProMarkers to color the stems, leaves, and apple flesh on the core image.  The chevron dp was a scrap from the basket and I'm sure it originally came from a Recollections stack.  I know this is pretty CAS but once I had the images laid out on top of the scrap dp and put the sentiment on top of that, it just looked 'finished' so I adhered everything and left it without embellishment.

     Challenges:

I hope you're going to come and play with us this week.  Remember, it's Anything Goes and you can win delightful images from QKR Stampede!  See you there.  NanaConnie

Tulip & Pansy Spring

Welcome to my DT post for the Paper Funday March challenge.  This month our theme is a color combo, "Green and Gold" which you can use for lovely spring projects, or you can focus on St. Patrick's Day, or just create something wonderful with those colors .  They are a delicious combination!

Our sponsor this month is Eureka Stamps and I used a lovely image from Eureka called "Tulip and Pansy Frame."   I colored the image with my ProMarkers, adding a few highlights with gel pens.  I hand cut the image for an 'outside the frame' appearance, then mounted it onto a black rectangle which was cut with a QuicKutz die.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  The background dp is from Recollections.

Driving Your Enemies Crazy

Here it is, time for another new challenge at Paper Funday.  Our theme this month is "Cute Critters" and we have two delightful sponsors:  Eureka Stamps and Polkadoodles Stamps.  I used an image from Eureka Stamps called "Leaning Cat."  Isn't that smile fantastic?

Did you know that next Sunday, August 8, is International Cat Day?  My cats are already planning the biggest party of the year, with cans of tuna and packets of fishy treats included!  lol  While I am truly an animal person, I tend to make many more cat than dog cards and I think it's because they come in such a wide variety of colors.  I know this one is pretty simple in his black fur with pink nose and mouth, but I love coloring calicos and tabby cats!  Who ever saw a calico dog?  lol

Colored with ProMarkers and white gel pen, then cut with a QuicKutz square die.  The die cut CS piece behind the image was cut with a die from Gina Marie.  The satin ribbons are both from Really Reasonable Ribbon and I added flower/sequin to the hand-tied bow.  I really love how the black and pink color combo worked out.

What I love most about this card is that everything on it (including the CS on which the image was printed) was put together all from scraps.  Even the flower bit inside the sequin on the bow was a leftover from punched holographic CS!  The bow was tied from a scrap bit of ribbon and the ribbon 'wrap' around the card front was a scrap barely long enough to tuck behind the image piece.  If you notice the pink die cut piece has a flat edge because the scrap wasn't big enough to fill the entire die.

I used sketch #554 from Sketch Saturday,
turned to better utilize the shape of my image and die cut.
     Challenges:

I hope your week is going well and that you're looking forward to the weekend.  Hopefully, you'll have lots of "me" time and then you can craft up a card with a cute critter and enter it into our challenge.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Plant a Kiss

Half way through the month of May and very close to half way through the year!  How did that happen?  We're starting our mid-month challenge at QKR Stampede today and our theme is always "Anything Goes."  You can use any images from any company on your projects but if you choose to use a QKR image (or one from our sister company, Eureka Stamps) then your entry qualifies for a separate draw only for QKR/Eureka images.  That increases your chance of winning by a huge amount, so think about it!  :-D

I did a lovely spring card using the image "Flower Girl" and the sentiment "Plant a Kiss" both of which are from Eureka Stamps.

I pulled my colors from the top row at Color Dare.

Colored w ProMarkers
Cut w QuicKutz oval die
Lace trim added to image
Sentiment fussy cut

A Spring Bunny

It's time for the second challenge this month at QKR Stampede and I'm still celebrating springtime!   It's been 7 weeks since I was hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia (and sick 10 days before the hospital) and I'm slowly improving (excruciatingly slow, I might add.)  Still on oxygen and I take lots of rest breaks (and a couple of naps) each day but I'm doing my own cooking and can even wash my dishes by myself.  I can even shower without assistance!  lol

I'm not up to jaunts outside yet but when I look out my windows, I see signs of spring everywhere!   Daffodils are blooming in the garden and it's past time for the vegetables to have been planted but I may have to just skip that this year.  But my card, featuring "Bunny with Flowers" from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, is perfect for a delightful spring card!

My color combo was inspired by the photo at Time Out.

Colored w ProMarkers
Cut w Spellbinders die
Card front embossed w "Linen" EF
Sheer ribbon (RRR)
Fabric flowers

     Challenges:

Come play with us; the challenge runs until the last day in April and our theme is always "Anything Goes."  We love being inspired by you.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

A Love Potion

Good morning, again.  This is my 3rd post for today so be sure to scroll down for the other two if you came here first.  This is my post sharing my DT card for the first of our two February challenges at QKR Stampede.  My card actually has an image from Eureka Stamps, our sister company.  It's called "A Love Potion."  I wanted something I could use on a really simple, CAS design for a masculine Valentine.

Capital letters colored w ProMarkers
Edges inked w ProMarkers
Gingham ribbon
Hand-tied gingham bow

     Challenges:
Don't forget about our QKR Stampede challenge in the midst of all the other challenge which start on the first of the month.  We always have an "Anything Goes" theme.  You can use any image from any company but if you chose an image from QKR (or Eureka), your entry goes into a completely separate draw and that increases your chances of winning by a huge amount!

Good morning, Friends.  Today is the beginning of our final 2020 "Anything Goes" challenge over at QKR Stampede and it will run until the end of the month.  We'll see you again on January 1 so let me wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Remember, for QKR challenges you are not required to use a QKR Stampede image but if you do, or if you use one from our sister company, Eureka stamps, your card will be put into a separate draw with others who have also used QKR/Eureka images and your chances of winning will be greatly increased.  :-D

I've used a QKR sentiment called "I Know Santa" and a Eureka image called "Polar Bear Present."

The End of Easter!

I know, that title makes you believe that because Easter celebrations are going to be severely limited this year due to the corona virus, that there may never be an Easter celebration again.  But all it really means is that this is what you would see if you were up and around when the Easter Bunny is finished with all his egg hiding chores!

It's time for a new, weekly challenge at QKR Stampede and our theme (as always) is Anything Goes.  The image I used is from Eureka Stamps, our sister digi company, and it's called "Bunny Bottom."  Isn't it fun?

Spring Blossoms

My apologies for being a day late posting my DT card for the newest weekly challenge at QKR Stampede.  My cold has turned into bronchitis and I'm spending most of my time in bed, except to get up to go to the bathroom or to take my antibiotics.

Stocking up again on birthday cards and this delightfully silly fish from QKR Stampede's sister brand, Eureka Stamps, seemed perfect for adding one more to the stash.  I used it as this week's DT card for the new challenge at QKR Stampede.  The image is called "Birthday Fish 14708."  The sentiment is also from Eureka, called "Another Year."  Don't you love that red eye?  lol

Friends and Flowers

Welcome to my blog on another Friday, the day our new challenges always start over at QKR Stampede.  Our theme is always Anything Goes and you can use any image or other products from any company.  However, keep in  mind that if you do use QKR images (or their sister company, Eureka), your entry goes into as separate draw and that increases your chances of winning by a huge margin!

My DT card today uses both an image and a sentiment from Eureka Stamps - "Bouquet" and "Friends are the Flowers."  Can you tell I'm ready for spring to be here?  Our temperatures on Wednesday broke a record which had stood since the mid-1900s - we hit 82 F and it did feel like spring!  Today they say we'll hit 83.  My apologies to those of you still buried in snow (and/or getting more) for even mentioning that.

Bundle Up Snowman

It's Friday and you know that means another challenge is starting at QKR Stampede where the theme is always "Anything Goes."  I've used a sweet, bundled-up-because-he's-frozen, snowman from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, which is called "Snowman Block."  The sentiment is "Bundle Up."  This is a new-to-me stamp which I was happy to add to my collection of snowmen.  If I could find a reason to use snowmen all year 'round, I would!
