Birthday Roses

Hello and welcome to my latest DT post for I Love ProMarkers, where our latest challenge starts today.   We are sponsored this time by Ike's Art and our theme is Anything Goes + optional: use die cut or punch.  Ike's provided images for the team to use and I chose "Rose Corner" but I reversed the image top to bottom.

I decided on white roses (coloring done with ProMarkers, of course) and framed the image with a die cut (Frantic Stamper die.)  Other than the fancy frame, this is a really CAS birthday card.

April Showers in the Garden

This morning I awoke to cooler temperatures and am hoping that's a sign that spring is actually going to get here and stay a bit.  I know that sounds strange to say cooler temperatures must be a sign of spring but we had record high temperatures over the last three days (90, 91, & 89) and it felt like we had winter on one day, then jumped directly into summer with no spring at all !  The prediction is for a chance of rain today so I'm hopeful.  :-D  (Yeah, the rain has arrived and we really need it !!)

As soon as I was fully awake, I decided on this adorable image to celebrate the cooler temps and the chance of rain.  It's a House Mouse image, of course, and I colored it with my ProMarkers.  I cut the image and the light blue frame with CUTplorations dies.  I used my Linen embossing folder on both the frame and the dark blue background CS.  The sentiment was cut with an Avery Elle die and matted twice.  Very CAS with lots of blue space instead of white.

Easter Bunny Gnome

I'm sharing another image from @Conie Fong, this one from the Easter Bunny Gnome set.  There are several images in the set and a couple of sentiments.  Not only is this a darling gnome, all the bunnies are precious in their own right and could easily be used for any 'bunny' occasion apart from Easter.  :-D  Check out our challenges this month.  There's still almost a week to go before they end.

I colored with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a die from Dare 2B Artzy.  I ran a scrap of aqua CS through my Linen EF and attached that to the card front.  The glittery, silver strip was another scrap from the basket and I hand-tied the bow using gingham ribbon.

Easter Jonquils

It's time for the mid-term reminder of our challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps, where our theme is always Anything Goes.  My card today features one of Jan's newer releases, called "Easter Jonquils," a set with 3 different images (2 of which I combined for this card) plus 3 sentiments.  And it's ON SALE until the end of the month!

I merged the sentiment and the two images, then colored with my ProMarkers.  I just had to have the chocolate bunny in the image - they have been favorites of mine since childhood.  :-D

I cut the image piece with a QuicKutz rectangle die and did the corners with a Fiskars corner punch.  It is framed with  scrap of cranberry CS, trimmed to fit.  I tied one of my signature bows, died it with a ProMarker, and added a sequin.  Everything was mounted onto an ombre scrap of scrapbooking CS, and that went onto the card front.

We hope to see you playing with us this month.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Tropical Toucan

Today a new "Anything Goes" challenge is starting at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and we're sponsored by the fun and fabulous SheepSki Designs.  Andrea provided images for the DT to use for this challenge and I chose this one called "Tropical."

It's cold enough today that I can wish I was somewhere tropical, chattering with a toucan, with a hibiscus flower in my hair.  :-D  No worry, spring will be here in another 24 hours and the temperatures will quickly rise, to a point beyond anyone's comfort zone and we'll all be wishing for the cooler, crispier temps of early fall.

I colored the image with ProMarkers, then cut it with a die from Spellbinders.  I dry embossed a piece of spring green CS with my Linen EF (which I've used quite a lot this month), and mounted both of those onto the card front.  The sentiment is fussy cut and I hand-tied the large bow using 1" grosgrain ribbon.  Final touch - 3 sequins.

I used the colors from Cupcake Inspirations.

     Challenges:
Cutie Pie (B for Bird)

Happy Crafting and we'd love to see you playing in our challenge this week.  NanaConnie

Rose Fairy

One more monthly progressive challenge and this time it's for The Outlawz.  This beautiful image, which I think of as a lovely fairy, was provided by Moon Flower Digistamps.  I thought she'd look great in monochromatic pinks.

She was colored with ProMarker and gel pens, then cut with an octagon die from QuicKutz.  The plain, pink CS was embossed with my Linen EF, then combined with glitter paper from Recollections for the background.  A small scrap of the glitter paper was cut with a die from Your Next Stamp and the drop out pieces were used to make the trio of embellishments on the right hand side.  Finally, I used my bow maker to tie a triple loop bow for the left side.  The Birthday sentiment was stamped and highlighted with white gel ink.

I based my card on the sketch at Cheerful Sketches,
inspired by the basics but giving it my own flavor by spreading the
distance of the half-circle embellishments, tilting the sentiment onto a diagonal,
and using the bow to replace the upright strip on the right side.

I'll have another DT post late tonight featuring a card done for the new weekly challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  Then, a couple of hours after that, I'll have one as a midway reminder for the monthly challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps.  Do stop by and check those out, too.

Some Bunny ...

I've finally managed to get the card done for the Progressive challenge at Stamper's Delights this month which features this adorable bunny girl image.

Colored with my ProMarkers, then cut with a Cuts die.  The sentiment was printed and I used another Cuts die from that same set.  I used my Linen embossing folder on the CS background.  I found ribbon in the basket and used it for both the wrap around the card front and to hand tie the double loop bow.  Fun but simple.

     Challenges:
Gem of a Challenge
Outlawz Greetings
Simon Says Stamp
Stamping Sensations

That's it for today.  I'm going back to the craft room for a coloring binge.  I have so many images printed and waiting, some of which are for looming DT commitments (!), and I feel the need to color them before they get discouraged about ever being used.  :-D

Talking to Flowers

This sweet little lady (fairy? pixie?), who's talking to the "spring flower," is an adorable image from Star Stampz, who just happens to be our challenge sponsor this week at Creative Knockouts.  Our theme this time is "Spring is in the Air."

I loved working with this image.  It colored so beautifully.  I used my ProMarkers, then cut a frame using a Sue Wilson die.  In this case, it's the frame which was cut, not the image piece.  I used another Sue Wilson die to cut the frame around the sentiment, and used a QuicKutz oval die to cut the actual sentiment piece.  I do love using dies - clearly one of my favorite things to do!

I added a mulberry paper flower to the sentiment frame.  I went a little crazy earlier this week cutting and embossing flower petals from mulberry paper and turning out finished flowers.  I think I've used one on every card this week.  :-D

     Challenges:
Star Stampz (cranberry CS)

We'd love to see you playing in our challenge this week.  "Spring" is such an easy theme this time of year when most of us are so tired of cold, rainy, snowy weather and are longing for those flowers to pop from the earth.  :-D   Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Water Lily Bowl

Another Wednesday and that means a new challenge at I Love ProMarkers.  Our theme this time is "Leaves or Flowers" and we are being sponsored by Colour of Love.  I used an image of theirs which is called "Water Lilies - Flower Pot Pretties."

I used my ProMarkers to color the image, then cut it with a QuicKutz die.  The edges were inked with an ink pad before layering it onto a scrap of butterfly dp.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the image piece and added glitter to the wings of the fairy.  I added a mulberry paper flower and called it finished.   A bit more than CAS and a bit short of fancy.  :-D

     Challenges:
Butterfly (lettuce, lavender, light pink)

Come play in our challenge this time.  Dig out those spring time images with flowers and /or leaves and enter them for a chance to win images from Colour of Love!  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Easter Delivery

I'm sharing another Hetty Clare image on this card - a mid-month reminder of our challenge at Your Scrapbook Place which is sponsored by Hetty Clare.   This is such an adorable gnome delivering a stack of Easter eggs to someone who is staying "Gnome for Easter."  lol  The image is called "Easter Delivery" and it's ON SALE!

I used ProMarkers and gel pens to color the image, then cut it with a Dare 2B Artzy die.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  The dp came from a Recollections paper stack.  I used iridescent cord to tie the double loop bow and the flower is made from die cut & embossed, mulberry paper with a bead center.

     Challenges:

Be sure to check out our March challenge.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Here, Kitty, Kitty

It's the middle of the month and we are starting a new challenge over at QKR Stampede where our theme is always "Anything Goes."  I used a fun and fabulous image called "Bobcat" and I did the entire card using scraps, leftovers, punches, and dies.

I printed the digital image onto a scrap of white CS, then colored it with ProMarkers and chalks.  I trimmed the image into a rectangle and cut the corners with a Uchida punch.  The golden background was cut with a die from Altenew and I put many of the cut out dots back into the cut piece.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.   I found the scrap of dp in the basket on my craft desk and it seemed to work with the background color.  Finally, I tied a bow tie and shaped the tails with a Fiskars punch.

     Challenges:
Passion for Markers  (Nov: Citrine)
Simon Says Stamp (Cats & Dies)
Star Stampz (C = Cat)

Dragon Bouquet

It's been a few days since I posted and I apologize but I've been a bit under the weather.  Resting seemed the best therapy.  :-D

But today I'm back!  I want to share one of my DT cards I made for Conie Fong which features one of her latest images, called "Dragon Bouquet."  Each month, we have 2 separate challenges, one for just coloring of Conie Fong images and the other for finished projects like this one, also with Conie Fong images.  We've just started a third monthly challenge, called Blast from the Past, into which you may enter older Conie Fong cards you've already posted to your blog or social media sites.  Click on the 'challenges' link above to get to the albums for any of those.  They are all on our FB site.

Here's what I did with "Dragon Bouquet."  It's a fun spring card which I'm going to use as one of my Easter cards.  I used ProMarkers to color the image, then I cut one side of it with a border die from Your Next Stamp.

I used another of those border dies to cut a piece of glitter CS and I used those on each side of the card.  The pink CS background was embossed with my 'Linen' folder.  I used a Tonic Studios die to cut the sentiment.  The last thing was to tie a double loop bow for one upper corner and it was finished.

     Challenges:

I hope we're going to see you playing in one of our challenges this month.  We need to have at least 10 entries in each one for prizes to be awarded.  You must use Conie Fong images but there are freebies available on the FB site.  Check them out.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Shamrock Wishes

This is my second card in a row with a delightful image from Jan's Digi Stamps!  Scroll down one post to see the card DT that I did for Pammie's Inky Pinkies which is being sponsored by Jan's this week.  Today is the first Monday in March and our new monthly has just started at Jan's Digi Stamps.  Our theme is always "Anything Goes" and the challenge will run until the first Sunday in April.

My DT card for today features one of Jan's most recent releases, a set called "Shamrock Wishes."  You really should check it out.  There are 5 different images in the set plus sentiments!   Everything on the card was done with scraps, including the ribbon for the bow.  I used polychromos pencils to color the image, then cut and framed it (with scraps of black and white CS) using QuicKutz dies.  The papers are scrap bits from an old K & Co. stack and the ribbon for the bow was the last I had of it in my stash.

     Challenges:

I hope you're going to come play with us this month.  We love being inspired by you.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Spring Bunny

I have two posts in a row which feature images from Jan's Digi Stamps and this one is for the new weekly challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  Our theme is our usual "Anything Goes."  Jan's Digi Stamps is sponsoring us this week and I used one of the newer releases called "Spring Bunny."

I adore this bunny surrounded by all those Easter eggs, claiming to have somehow hidden all of them!  The sentiment is part of the set.  If you look at the set in the store, you'll notice that I flipped the image side to side and added extra eggs by merging secondary images before I printed anything.

I also printed the image after adding the sentiment.  I used the pre-colored image but printed it grayscale so that I could use brighter colors on the eggs and flowers but still have the shadows and highlights of the original image.  I cut the image with a rectangle die from QuicKutz, then used a Fiskars punch on the corners.  The papers are from a Recollections stack and the bow was sewn together with a rhinestone finding (for making jewelry.)

I chose colors (all 4) from My Favorite Things,
plus a couple others for the eggs.

     Challenges:

I hope we're going to see you playing along in our Anything Goes challenge this week.  We love seeing what you create and being inspired by it.  Come on over and see what the rest of the team has created.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

St. Patrick's Gnome

Our March challenge is starting over at Pattie's Creations, where our theme is always "Anything Goes."   March is my birthday month, and I'm Irish on both sides of my family tree.  In addition to that, I celebrate my birthday on St. Patrick's Day!  Can an Irishman (woman) get any luckier than that?   Yes, when I saw this delightful Clover Leaf, the Gnome in Pattie's store.  :-D

Everything I used on this card came from scraps including the CS on which I printed the image.  I used my ProMarkers to color the image, adding a few highlights with gel pens.  The image was cut with a die from Spellbinders.  The background papers were scraps and I tied a bow with a scrap of shamrock ribbon.  The sentiment was printed onto a scrap, then cut with an Avery Elle die.

     Challenges:

Come play along with us this month.  Enter any card you've created after the date the challenge began.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Luck o' the Irish

Top o' the Mornin' to ya, as the Irish would say.  We're celebrating a new challenge this week at Creative Knockouts and our theme is "Sparkle and Shine."  We are sponsored by LeAnn's World and they generously supplied the two images used by the team.  I used "Luck of the Irish" which I reversed before printing.

I used both colored pencils and ProMarkers to color the image, adding Stickles to make the sparkly elements.  The image was cut with a die from Dare 2B Artzy, and the frame piece was cut with a QuicKutz die.  All of the papers are from a K & Co. stack.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  Finally, I sewed one of my signature bows using shiny, satin ribbon which I dyed gold with a ProMarker.

     Challenges:
As You Like It (Definitely NOT interactive cards because the very idea of making them intimidates me!  Besides, I mail the majority of my cards and need them to be flat and simple.)

I hope to see you playing in our challenge this week.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Day of the Monarch

Another new challenge is starting at I Love ProMarkers and this time our challenge theme is "No Patterned Papers."  Our challenge this fortnight is sponsored by Ching-chou Kuik and my image is called "Monarch Butterfly."  It's from the "Butterfly and Ladybug Set."

I colored the image with water colors and ProMarkers, then fussy cut it.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I mounted both the image and the sentiment onto a black card base, and left it alone for a very CAS design, this time with lots of 'black' space instead of white space.

     Challenges:

We'd love to see you enter our challenge.  Just don't use any dp this time.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Tulip & Pansy Spring

Welcome to my DT post for the Paper Funday March challenge.  This month our theme is a color combo, "Green and Gold" which you can use for lovely spring projects, or you can focus on St. Patrick's Day, or just create something wonderful with those colors .  They are a delicious combination!

Our sponsor this month is Eureka Stamps and I used a lovely image from Eureka called "Tulip and Pansy Frame."   I colored the image with my ProMarkers, adding a few highlights with gel pens.  I hand cut the image for an 'outside the frame' appearance, then mounted it onto a black rectangle which was cut with a QuicKutz die.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  The background dp is from Recollections.

     Challenges:

Happy Crafting and come play in our challenge.  NanaConnie

Working from Home

It's the 1st of another month and that means I'll have 2 posts today; one for the challenge at QKR Stampede and another for Your Scrapbook Place.  I also posted my GDT card for Ike's World late last night because their challenge goes live on the First Tuesday of the month but that's Monday night in my time zone.

This is the one for YSP and our challenge theme is always Anything Goes.  Our wonderful sponsor this month is Hetty Clare (I love her images!) and she provided images to the DT.  I used this fun one called "Handbag Gonk."  It reminded me of the days when I dragged home a huge briefcase of things from the office which had to be completed at home.  Then came the pandemic and everyone was working from home so it all became "Home" work!

I used my ProMarkers to color the image, then cut it with a Cuts die.  I used another Cuts die from that set to cut the image frame which I embossed with my Linen EF before adding the image piece.  I printed and cut the sentiment with an Avery Elle die.  That background dp is from K & Co.

     Challenges:

It would be fun to see you playing along in our YSP challenge this month.  How can you beat an Anything Goes theme?  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Cyrano de "Rhino"rac

It's the 1st of another month and that means I'll have 2 posts today; one for the challenge at QKR Stampede and another for Your Scrapbook Place.  I also posted my GDT card for Ike's World late last night because their challenge goes live on the First Tuesday of the month but that's Monday night in my time zone.

This post features my DT card for QKR Stampede and both the image and the sentiment bring to mind the recent movie about Cyrano de Bergerac, only this fun image from QKR is Baby Rhino with an enormous horn on his nose!

I colored with my ProMarkers, then used a die from Tattered Lace to cut the image.  The papers are from a Recollections stack.  I printed, then cut the sentiment using a QuicKutz die.  I added three tiny brads to one lower corner and called it finished.

Based on the sketch at Tuesday Morning
adjusted for a square card with the background flipped.

     Challenges:

Come play with us this fortnight.  We always have an Anything Goes theme.  Remember, you can use any stamps/images from any company but if you choose to use something from QKR Stampede, or even our sister company Eureka Stamps, your entry will be put into a separate draw only for those who used QKR/Eureka, and that increases your chance of winning by a huge amount!  Come play.  :-D

     Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie
