Bunny Birthday Card

Here I go featuring another Mariola Budek image on my card, this one a commissioned birthday card for a young girl who loves bunnies.  I colored with Sanjoki alcohol markers, then cut the image with a QuicKutz die.  The happy birthday sentiment was cut with a die from Sizzix.  The papers are scraps which originally came from a Recollections stack.   (...and, yes, she loved the card!  :-D)

     Challenges:
Butterfly (salmon, sea green, sky blue)

That's it for today.  See you tomorrow with anther new post.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

24 "Carat"

For my DT card today, I'm using one of Conie Fong's new releases "Bunny with Carrot," which can be found on sale in the store.

This may be my last Easter card (last made; I still have quite a few to post) but it could also be used for a birthday, for Mother's Day, or nearly any occasion for a special person.

What fun this was to color!  I used my Sanjoki markers to color the image, then cut it and the frame with dies from Tonic Studio.  The background was made using  paper scrap (Recollections) and I hand tied the bow using grosgrain ribbon.  The sentiment was printed and cut with another Tonic Studio die.

     Challenges:

I may have another post today but it may have to wait until tomorrow.  I'm still a bit under the weather.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Bunny in a Basket

This card was so fast and easy!  I started with a pre-colored, clip art image which I cut with a fancy die from QuicKutz.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I used dp from Paper Studio for the background and added one of my signature, hand-sewn bows, this time with a pearl on it.  Finished in less than 20 minutes!

     Challenges:

That's it for today.  I did quite well at the craft fair, better than I expected given my previous experience with vendor booths.  :-D  I'm very pleased.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Cutest Bunny Butt

Is this the cutest 'Bunny Butt' ever?  It's from Can You Digi It and it's been in my stash forever!  Well, for a long time, anyway.  I just decided that it would make a cute Easter card so I colored it up with my new Sanjoki markers, then cut it with a Die-namics die.

The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I chose a dp scrap from the basket, cut it with the same Die-namics die and inset the image into it.  Then I embellished the card with a butterfly gem and with small rows of gems in the lower corner.

     Challenges:

I'm off to my craft fair this morning but I'll have another post for you late this afternoon when I return home.  Wish me luck at the fair.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Bunny & Butterfly

I adore this image and it was free clip art that I found online!  I colored it with water color paints and cut it with a Spellbinders die.   This is a tent card, opening at the bottom instead of the side.  I found some Paper Studios dp that I thought worked perfectly so I added that for the background.  The sentiment was printed and cut with an Avery Elle die.  I thought it needed just a hint of embellishment so I added gems to the body of the butterfly.

     Challenges:
Butterfly (heather, hawk's blue, highland on the stems)

Bow Tie Bunny

This is my first post today and once again, I'm featuring an image from Mariola Budek.  This sweet bunny was almost complete as he was but I did add a bit of dove gray and cool gray to his fur, plus a dab of soft pink on his ear, nose, and mouth.  This time, I used my new Sanjoki markers.  The more I use those alcohol markers, the more I like them!  They seem to be pretty much on par with Copics and ProMarkers but the cost is so much more budget friendly.  :-D

I used my bow maker to tie the double layer bow which I applied just under his chin as a bow tie.   The bunny is fussy cut with scissors.  I used a scrap of deep purple CS for the card front, and added a strip of  blue CS which I dry embossed with my 'Linen' EF.   I wrote out the sentiment using a fine tip Versamark pen, then heat embossed it with white EP.  Overall, very CAS.

     Challenges:
Can You Handle ...
Dream Valley

I'll have a second Easter card to share in a couple of hours.  I'm working on getting everything ready for the craft fair I'm attending tomorrow but I also want to get my posts done so that I can share with you the progress I've made on Easter cards these past 10 days.  :-D

Don't Egg Me On

When the Easter bunny says, "Don't egg me on," he's 'punny'!   This guy seems to be only half listening to the 'egging on.'  But at least he's attentive with one ear.  :-D

The image was printed on a scrap of beige dp which has a 'linen' texture to it.  I colored his ears with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a QuicKutz die.  The frame was also cut with another QuicKutz die, then run through my "Linen" EF.

The butterfly dp was a scrap from the basket, as was the deep burgundy CS strip at the bottom.  The sentiment is from QKR Stampede and I colored it with my new Sanjoki markers and gel pens.  The bow was hand tied and stitched in the middle to give it more of a butterfly shape.  I wanted the butterflies to emphasize the spring colors and theme.

     Challenges:
Butterfly (Tent fold, Tango Pink)

That's it for today.  Check back tomorrow when I'll have more Easter to share.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Tired Bunny

Poor Easter Bunny - all tired out from hiding eggs all night long!  This cute image of an egg-looking bunny is from Beccy's Place and I think he's totally adorable.  lol  But he does look a bit 'drained' from all that hard work hiding Easter eggs.

I used my new Sanjoki markers to color the image, then added 'fur' highlights with a white gel pen.  The image was cut using a die from QuicKutz.  The frame was cut from hologram paper (Lawn Fawn) with another QuicKutz die from the same set, but larger.  The upper sentiment was also cut with  die from that set but the lower sentiment was cut with an Avery Elle die.  I mounted everything onto dove gray CS.

    Challenges:
Carlin's Card Paradise (sketch 1 + Spring)
Lawn Fawnatics (song: Peter Cottontail)

This is my post for today and I thought I'd have another but it turns out this is all I have until tomorrow.  See you then with 2 posts.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

All Tuckered Out

I clearly remember the days when my kids were so little that they were completely worn out after hunting Easter eggs in the early morning, often too tired to eat breakfast without at least a short nap beforehand.  When I saw this precious image from Mariola Budek, I just had to color it and make an Easter card for one of my great-grands.  :-D

Generally speaking, I prefer images of critters better than people because mostly critters are cuter but this darling image let me do both so it's a real win-win!

Once again, I used my new Sanjoki alcohol markers to color the image, then fussy cut it with scissors.  I mounted it onto dimensional tape and layered it onto a plain card front.  The sentiment was printed, cut with an Avery Elle die, and mounted on dimensional tape, also.  I added tiny flowers, made by Petaloo, and called it finished.  I really wanted the image to be the focus, not the embellishments, so I kept those to a minimum.  Another Easter card for the stash, which is growing slowly.

     Challenges:

I'm heading back to the craft room where I have another 8 images colored and waiting to be turned into Easter cards.  I spent the entire morning and a good share of the afternoon coloring so that I could make some serious headway on Easter cards this evening and tomorrow morning.  Check back about this time tomorrow for another post.  :-D

Spring Madness

Everyone is talking about March Madness in the midst of the basketball playoffs, but since I rarely follow basketball, I wanted to share a card celebrating simple Spring Madness!  Maybe this will hurry it along and get this crazy winter behind us.  :-D

This darling bunny is an image drawn by Mariola Budek (I love, love LOVE her images), and I think it's a perfect reflection of how every bunny must feel when spring makes the clover grow and the sky is blue beyond all imagination.  I colored the image with some of my new markers by Sanjoki, a brand I'm trying out for comparative purposes with both ProMarkers and Copics.  So far, I find them to be comparable in everything but price since the Sanjokis are far more affordable.  I have a set of 120 so finding the exact color I want for blending purposes isn't a problem.  I'm still adjusting to the brush tips because they seem to be a bit more flexible than Copics and, since I've been a dedicated ProMarker user for nearly a decade now, I need to hone my skills when it comes to brush tips anyway.

Once colored, I cut the image with a Gina Marie die, then layered it onto my card front.  I printed and fussy cut the sentiment, added it to the top of the image and called it finished!  :-D  I think it's cute enough to use for an Easter card.  What do you think?

     Challenges:
There's a Stamp ...

That's all I have for today but I have more bunnies and more Easter card to post this week.  Easter isn't that far away and I still have several more cards to make for family and friends.  See you later and Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Bunny Tale

This image harkens back a couple of years to when I lost my entire collection of digital images (nearly 10,000 of them gathered over a decade) due to a flash drive crash, and a dear friend took the time to print or stamp images and snail mail them to me so that I'd continue making cards.  She was so afraid I'd give it up.  I did spend a lot of time thinking about how much it would cost to replace all of those but instead I simply started collecting new images.

Anyway, this is one she sent me which I simply never used.  (I still have probably 15 or 20 in the folder waiting to be colored and used.)  Unfortunately, when she sent them, she didn't give me any information as to what company or artist made the image but if anybody knows and can identify this one for me, I'll gladly edit this post and give full credit to the artist.

I colored this one using both ProMarkers and pencils.  Once colored, I used a die from Spellbinders to cut the image.  The plaid papers are from a Lawn Fawn stack.  The sentiment was cut with an Avery Elle die, then matted with a tiny scrap of the blue plaid dp.  The gingham bow was hand-tied.

Happy Easter

Our newest challenge starts today at QKR Stampede, where our theme is always Anything Goes and where there are 2 winners for each fortnightly challenge.  The first winner is someone who has used a QKR Stampede image (or one from our sister company, Eureka Stamps) and the second for any image from any company.  You can win fun and fabulous QKR images if your entry is chosen.

For my DT card today, I used a cute Easter Bunny image called "Happy Easter."  I love working with 'cute' images, even more than flowery images because cute images are so much more versatile.  It's hard to use flowers on a masculine card but cute works no matter what.  :-D

I colored the image with my ProMarkers, then cut it with a Spellbinders rectangle die.  If I remember correctly, that set of dies was the first I ever bought and it's been well used.  It also generated a love for dies of all kinds, shapes, and sizes!  :-D  I used a 'grass' die from Your Next Stamp.  I sewed a quick, pink, satin bow, and then added a few sequins for just the tiniest bit of sparkle.  I used my 'Linen" EF on the green card front.

My color combo came from My Favorite Things.

With an Anything Goes theme, you have absolutely no reason not to enter something in our challenge.  Come  play.  :-D  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Heart full of Love

We're starting our new monthly challenge at Paper Funday today and our theme is always "Anything Goes" with the optional twist for February being "Hugs & Kisses."  Our fun and fabulous sponsors are Polkadoodles and All Dressed Up.  I am using an image from Polkadoodles called "Love You Bunches."

I used my ProMarkers to color the sweet bunny image, then fussy cut it with scissors.  I used a circle die from Dare 2B Artzy to cut a circle in silver glitter CS and layered a scrap of  pink dp behind it.  I mounted the image onto dimensional dots and put that in the circle.  The sentiment was printed, cut with an Avery Elle die, and matted with another scrap of the pink dp.  Sparkly and fun but still pretty CAS.

     Challenges:
Butterfly (circle, coral, cardinal + butterflies)

Come play with us in our February challenge.  You are free to do Anything Goes or to follow the option of Hugs and Kisses, but either way,. we'd love to see you entering our challenge.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

A Spring Bunny

It's time for the second challenge this month at QKR Stampede and I'm still celebrating springtime!   It's been 7 weeks since I was hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia (and sick 10 days before the hospital) and I'm slowly improving (excruciatingly slow, I might add.)  Still on oxygen and I take lots of rest breaks (and a couple of naps) each day but I'm doing my own cooking and can even wash my dishes by myself.  I can even shower without assistance!  lol

I'm not up to jaunts outside yet but when I look out my windows, I see signs of spring everywhere!   Daffodils are blooming in the garden and it's past time for the vegetables to have been planted but I may have to just skip that this year.  But my card, featuring "Bunny with Flowers" from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, is perfect for a delightful spring card!

My color combo was inspired by the photo at Time Out.

The End of Easter!

I know, that title makes you believe that because Easter celebrations are going to be severely limited this year due to the corona virus, that there may never be an Easter celebration again.  But all it really means is that this is what you would see if you were up and around when the Easter Bunny is finished with all his egg hiding chores!

It's time for a new, weekly challenge at QKR Stampede and our theme (as always) is Anything Goes.  The image I used is from Eureka Stamps, our sister digi company, and it's called "Bunny Bottom."  Isn't it fun?

Looong Day !

Some people think that being the Easter Bunny is a breeze job - only having to work one day a year.  But that's a tremendously "Long Day 24127" as this image from QKR Stampede shows.  Yep, it's Friday and that means another weekly challenge has started.  Come play - the theme is always "Anything Goes" and you can use any image you like, from any company.

I colored with ProMarkers, then used an oval die from Spellbinders to make an out-of-the-box cut of the image.  I had to trim a bit near the hand and at the top to fit the exact shape of the oval in the image.  The scalloped oval behind the image was cut from a sticker paper scrap with a QuicKutz die.  I had peeled off the protective cover and sprinkled it with Goldenrod glitter from Sparkle n Sprinkle.  I put the protective sheet back on top and then cut it with the die.

I layered the image onto the glittered piece.  I used a scrap of navy blue CS to make the background.  I wrapped it with a scrap of white, stitched ribbon (Crafty Ribbons) and added one of my signature bows.  The three little dots were bits that dropped out of the die cut and I put them onto the ribbon.

Finally, I printed and hand cut the sentiment before adding it to the bottom.

A Good Egg

Friday morning and another weekly challenge is starting over at QKR Stampede.  Our theme is always "Anything Goes."   This week, I'm still doing Easter cards and I used this delightful QKR image called "Bunny and Egg."

I colored the image with ProMarkers, then cut it with a Double-stitched Circle, Die-namics die from My Favorite Things.  I also cut the dp with that same die.  Notice the stitching on both the image edge and the dp circle?  The die is double stitched to give that effect when the die cuts are inlaid.

I printed and hand cut the sentiment, adding the plaid at the bottom of the card front, and finally tied a small bow using satin ribbon.  I added glitter to a medium Pop Dot and stuck it onto the bow for a teeny bit of sparkle.
