"N" is for Nutcracker - 30 Days of Holidays

One more card for the 30 Days of Holidays at Beccy's Place and today we're working with the letter "N" so a Nutcracker was a Natural.  Because I'm still fighting that nasty respiratory virus, I decided on something really quick and printed out a pre-colored version of one of Beccy's Nutcrackers.

I cut the image with a die from Tonic Studios, then punched the corners of the image piece with a Fiskars corner punch.  After that, I began searching through my Christmas ribbons.  I was looking for a plaid ribbon and  was found in the scrap basket.  I really love the plaid on Christmas cards and I think it goes well with the masculine Nutcracker image.  I think ribbon is my favorite embellishment because it works so well with both feminine and masculine cards.

I used an Art Impressions die to cut the snowflakes, made the center one with 2 layers, and added glitter and a gem to the top snowflake.  The NOEL sentiment was cut with a Die-Versions die and it gave me one more "N."

Panda Birthday, II

Here's the second birthday card featuring a Panda for the birthday party shared between my SIL and her granddaughter, as I promised you yesterday.  This is the one for my SIL.

Again, I started with a pre-colored, clip art image which I cut with a Tonic Studios die, and matted it in white.  The plaid dp came from a Lawn Fawn stack and the bow is one of my hand-sewn, signature bows, dyed with a ProMarker and with a pearl sewn on.

There is an outside sentiment which I printed myself, and an inside sentiment which ties in with the outside sentiment.  It came from Beccy's Place and I know my sister-in-law will love it!  :-D

Color Those Easter Eggs!

Here's the next in my series of recent Easter cards.  Somehow, a family member (who shall remain nameless) convinced me to be a vendor at a craft fair at the end of this month and show some of my cards for sale.  Big on the list will be Easter cards because Easter will only be 9 or 10 days away by that time.  So, in addition to getting enough Easter cards done for family and friends, I now need another dozen or two for sale!

In the interest of making the job as fast and easy as possible, I've decided to use pre-colored images on some of them and I also searched the web for free, printable, Easter images, including several vintage images.  I see several CAS cards coming up!

But this one for today features a pre-colored image from Beccy's Place and I love how the Easter Bunny is not only dressed in his finest but has carefully colored his eggs, readying them for delivery.  The image was cut with a Sizzix die, and the sentiment was cut with a die from Avery Elle.  The plaid background dp is a scrap from the basket.  I took a bit of twine, doubled it, and tied the bow.

OK, back to the crafting desk to see how many more Easter cards I can finish today.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

"Chikin" Dinner

My family has friends whose autistic son is utterly mad about one of the nationwide food chains which serves 'chikin' and has had an entire, years-long, advertising campaign which features cows encouraging people to "eat mor chikin."  One of the things his mom does it to give him cards every few days and I'm constantly looking for images (sometimes photos) which I can use to make cards for her.

When I saw the latest image for this month's Progressive Challenge at LeAnn's World, called "Aaryn," I knew he'd make a perfect card for her to give to Jacob.

Colored w ProMarkers
Cut w Tonic Studios die
Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon
Card front embossed w Linen EF

In addition to that card, I found this advertising photo of one of the Cows leading cheers in one of the restaurants but, thinking of the current state of affairs, I added a mask to the cow, found some scraps of dp, printed an appropriate sentiment, and voila', one more card!      :-D

I have a dear friend who adores giraffes (and who is kind enough to also adore the cards I make for her!) and she collects them in all forms.  When I saw this poem, I knew it described her love of giraffes perfectly.  I've already mailed this card to her so it's safe to post it here today.

Make a Wish

A new Friday today and it's even a Friday, the 13th!  Since I'm not the least superstitious, other than noting the date, my day will be just like any other day including telling you about the new weekly challenge starting today at QKR Stampede.  As usual, our theme is "Anything Goes" and you can use any image from any company.  However, if you do use either a QKR image or an image from Eureka, our sister company, your entry will be put into a separate draw only for people using our images.  That increases your chances of winning by a huge amount.

For my card today, which I'm adding to my stash of birthday cards, I used a cute QKR Stampede image called "Wish Bone 7005."  Maybe he'll be the lucky one when the Wish Bone is snapped.  :-D
