Ike's World

I've been playing in the challenges at Ike's World off and on for quite a while now and today I've done three cards, each of which has an image by Ike's Art.  I tried to do a combination of styles as each image inspired me.  Let's start with the felines because you all know those are favorites of mine.  :-D

I went with fall colors and lots of layers and I used my ProMarkers to color these sweet little guys.  Don't they just look soft enough to touch?  I die cut the image with one of my older dies from Spellbinders, then matted it with another die cut one size larger.  The sentiment is matted and that's was the smallest die from that same set.

All the papers are scraps and I believe each one is from Stampin' Up.  I punched the butterflies from the same dp as the sentiment mat and added them to the opposite corner.

     Challenges for this card:

My second card has Ike's magnificent Peacock and I colored it with my Lyra polychromos pencils.

After coloring the peacock, I added glitter to the body and green part of his tail.  The image is die cut with a simple square die (QuicKutz.)  I found a scrap of peacock blue CS, tore part of each edge, and wrapped the fibers around it before mounting the image to it.  After that, I layered everything onto a kraft card base and added the sentiment and the flower embellies.

     Challenges for this card:

The final card uses one of Ike's beautiful birds.

To color this one, I used watercolors and a brush.  That was no easy task because I decided I wanted to do a black and white card with only a splash of one color and watercolor sets rarely have black in them.  I mixed several of the browns and dark grays together to get the shades used and I think it came out pretty well.

I cut the image plus the two yellow circles with a Stitched Scalloped Circle die from Die-namics.  The papers are all from the DCWV "Midnight Chic" stack.  I found that lace in my stash and decided it was perfect for this rather vintage card.  The final touch was the large, white bow.

     Challenges for this card:

Thank you, Ike, for the opportunity to showcase some of your delightful digital stamps.  To all of you who stopped by, enjoy your visit and Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

All of these are wonderful, but you know my favorite is the kitties. I think you had some kitty models help you decide the markings :-).

wow...ok...not going to pick a favorite, but I like the lace on the bird card...very delicate. I've also loved peacock's. We use to have some in our backyard...don't ask me why. I love the cord bow on the kitty card. I can see them trying to play with it. You were a busy girl. I've been working on one silly card for 3 hours and trust me, it wasn't worth it or that great. I'll post tomorrow sometime.

Awesome Connie, what diverse talent you have (each style is a delight to look at). Love them all but the design on the peacock card really catches my eye. Wonderfully done.

Wow! Your three cards range from darling, sweet, beautiful, breath-taking, and downright heartwarming, Connie! My fave, I think, is your sweet little bird on the end, with the lovely brown tone papers and lace! Delightful creation! The little bird really does look like it is on muslin! hugs, de

Beautiful cards and I love the different techniques and effects you have used. The peacock looks awesome and I love the bird in black and white. The little kitties are so cute and I have a teeny kitten down the garden in with my chickens that looks exactly like your pale tricolour on the left there :-D
Thank you for showcasing my images and for trying out for the DT.
Thanks also for playing along at IkesWorld Challenges and SUYP Cats Challenges.

I am scrolling through the cards you have marked "felines" and I HAD to comment on all of these gorgeous cards! I truly have to get the hang of digi stamps! And your coloring is stunning!! I also wanted to say I grew up with a cat named Honey - she literally got chased into our house by one of our dogs and never left. Little did we know she was preggers, she proceeded to have a litter of kittens next to my HEAD on my bed - I couldn't figure out what all the wee mews were! LOL She got pregnant once more before we could get her fixed (they are QUICK!) and we were lucky to find homes for all the babies. She was so affectionate we named her Honey. Ok, enough of this - I am off to bed :) xoxoxo
