Beach Weather

The fur babies and I have been melting in 100 degree heat for the last 2 days and even though the weatherman is promising that we'll be back in the high 70s (F) today, I'm heading for the beach.  The felines can stay home and play in their sand box, pretending they're at the beach.  lol

Maybe this card will help if I leave it out where they can see it, do you think?   No, they'd just be mad because she took her kitty with her and I left them at home.  :-D

I started with the sketch from My Favorite Things
but I flipped it top to bottom and reversed it as well.

Sketch Challenge 331 #mftstamps

I colored it with my ProMarkers and cut it with a die from Spellbinders.  I made a pink denim background by photographing an old  pair of jeans with my new closeup lens.  I printed the photo onto watercolor paper for a bit more texture and then tore some kraft CS for the bottom to go with the sand.  I added gold satin ribbon to one side of the die cut frame and then tied two, simple, pink bows (no pearls this time) for a bit of embellishment.

OK, I'm not actually heading for the beach.  I'm staying home in the air conditioning to watch a live streaming of my granddaughter's National Cheer competitions in Florida.  It runs over both days this weekend.  I'm already aware of how tight the competition will be.  One of the earlier teams I was following placed 12th out of  36 teams in that division and they had a "no deduction" score, meaning that they were technically perfect!  The difference in total scores between 1st and 36th was less than 1.21 points (out of 100.)  It feels like the Olympics where competitors are only hundredths of a point apart!

     Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

LOL! Love your beach story about your cute, colorful, fun card, Connie, and I'm sure your fur babies are content to remain home in their own special sandbox, rather than accompany you to go to the beach, which would be entirely overwhelming for them. It would be similar to us in a stamp store! So many stamps, so little money and time! They would say, "So many grains of sand, and where to start?" LOL Hoping you are soon enjoying color temps, Connie, and that your garden will grow this year. Wishing you a fantastic week-end! hugs, de

I'll have to tune in and see if I can find the team competing! So exciting for them and win or lose, they're going to have a ball. I watched some last weekend from Dallas I think it was and mercy me.....no more of the two bits, three bits stuff is there! Amazing to watch.

Now on to your card - which I love! The little girl looks ready for some waves for sure. Love the ice cream melting too. So pretty and framed out with beauty!

I LOVE your card, but my mind keeps going to those temperatures, I would love to have a few days (only) of those temps, here in the UK, is still struggling to get higher temperatures. I'm sitting here with a thick cardigan on, instead of putting the heating on Brrrr.

Back to your card, very clever to take a photo of the denim and print it on paper for the background, it gives texture. Love the ribbon on the side too, Such a cutie image.
Enjoy the air conditioning Connie my friend, you may be as cold as me LOL.

Hi NC. Fab composition and coloring. Another cute image. Today is definitely not a beach day, but a rain day. I may have ice cream later next week when the heat returns. Have a fabulous weekend

Oh so hot where you live. We have finally had several days of sun but I still wear a sweater on my morning walk. Good thing you have a beach to go to. I would have to travel west to B.C to find one at this time of the year and it might be a little chilly too. Your beach girl is adorable and love the die cut frame and the lovely colours.

What a cute card! I love the image and her holding a kitty is fabulous! Your temps are where mine are...I'm in Arizona and it's just over 100 here now. And for those in England who wish it was warmer...I wish we could send them 20 of our degrees! Adorable card and sweet little bows! Thanks for joining us at Craft-Dee BowZ for our May challenge! --Gail
