Irish Dragon

I shared a St. Patrick's card the other day which I had made for my granddaughter who loves cows, and today I have one for another granddaughter who adores dragons (as do I !)

I merged this digital coloring book, clip art image, with the small dragon image merged in the upper corner, then printed it in very light grayscale.  Once printed, I colored it with water colors and alcohol markers.  The image was cut with a Tonic Studios die and layered onto a white background on which I had printed the sentiment.  The background paper came from a K & Co. stack.

Leprechaun Gnomes

 Happy St. Patrick's Day !

And thank you for sharing my birthday with me.  :-D

Here's the second of the Gnome Leprechauns images I used for my St. Patrick's cards.  I love them with their fire-y red beards and green apparel, celebrating the day as though all gnomes are Irish on March the 17th.  But then, why not?  Everyone is allowed to be Irish on that day, aren't they?  Truth is, my family history comes from Ireland on both sides of my family so what better day for me to also celebrate my birthday?

Here's the card and the short and sweet of it is that it's all done with scraps of this and that, and I kept it happily CAS, discounting the print in the dp.

There's a Stamp ...

That's it for today.  I'm off to spend the majority of the day with family and friends, celebrating both my birthday and being Irish!  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Leprechaun Days

Edited to add:  Sorry this is late.  I set the timer incorrectly when I pre-scheduled the post and just now realized it.  All fixed now.  :-D

Good Morning and Happy President's Day!  It's time for the start of another challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps where our theme is Always Anything Goes.  I hope you're going to play along and maybe win a gift certificate for some of Jan' fabulous image sets.

Today, one month ahead of St. Patrick's Day, I've used this fantastic image of a fun Leprechaun 3154J.   Both the leprechaun and the pot of gold are images in the set; I just combined them for this card.

Each year, I make St. Patrick's cards and send them to my grandchildren because I celebrate my birthday on St. Paddy's and I'm Irish on both sides of my family tree!  I want to remind them of their Irish heritage.  My dad used to say, "Irishmen never father anything but Irishmen, regardless of what's on the other side."  lol

Top o' the Mornin'

For all my good intentions of working on things for an upcoming yard sale, I got hit with a flu bug and have spent most of the last 48 hours either in bed or hugging the porcelain throne!   However, I had this card made and thought I had pre-scheduled the post but when I dragged myself out of bed to link it up to the various challenges, I discovered I hadn't even written the post.  Arrrg!

The image is from Rick St. Dennis and is one of most most delightful of my "leprechaun" images.  I know I haven't used it before even though I've had it a while.

I started with the sketch from Feeling Sketchy
but I turned it a quarter turn and
then flipped it side to side.

I colored him with my ProMarkers, then cut him with a stitched die from Die-namics.  I cut the frame with another die in that same set, using a scrap of dp from the leftovers basket.  The striped background paper was also a scrap.

I used glittered washi tape to make the gold stripes and added on of my hand-sewn bows with a tiny pearl.  Finally, I printed the sentiment, hand-cut it, and layered it onto the image piece so that it went out-of-the-box.

Sum More Fun

OK, I've taken more than 2 hours to type up this post but it was punctuated with more than a few ache-y muscles and a wave or two of nausea, so I'm going to crawl back in bed and see if the world will just go away for a while.  If I'm MIA for a couple of days, you'll know why.  Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Magic of a Leprechaun

The magic of Spring is right around the corner and, for those of us who are Irish (and a few who are Irish one day a year!), the month of March also makes us think of leprechauns, with a magic all their own.  This fun image is from Fabrika Fantasy and, with my Irish heritage, I just had to use this fantastic leprechaun on a card.

This is going to be a really fast post and I'll pre-schedule it to go live while I'm sleeping.  Colored with ProMarkers, cut with a Memory Box stitched, scalloped-circle die, and mounted onto a ribbon background.

The dark green ribbon is covered in glitter and sparkles beautifully  I used most of that ribbon for Christmas projects.  Both of the ribbons were just scrap pieces left in my ribbon box from other projects.  The striped ribbon was from a sewing project I did over a year ago.

I added no embellishments at all so that it would remain very CAS and easy to mail.

OK, I'm heading to bed.  It's raining again and I can hear the wind blowing outside but it's snug and cozy under the covers so the fur babies and I are off to get warm.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
