Friday means a new challenge is starting at QKR Stampede and we have a new theme of "Mother's Day." Most of you who follow me already know that I have a weird, perhaps even bizarre sense of humor so hopefully you'll appreciate this card I made for a wonderful lady who has a family of 5 and says all she does is laundry, laundry, laundry every day of the week. I, on the other hand, live alone and sometimes go a full 2 weeks with barely enough laundry to separate it into different loads. Remember, we're conserving water out here in drought stricken California so I have to have a big load before I run the machine! Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Laziness has nothing to do with it! :-D
This is Digi 24224 "Resting Heavy" and, while I had good intentions of using a sentiment from QKR, I have to take the full blame for the sentiment this time. :-D It just popped into my head as I was getting ready to print the digi.
I added the 'frame' and the sentiment with some editing software before I printed it, a new technique for me. Then I used ProMarkers to color the image, and cut it out - frame, sentiment, and all - with my Fiskars paper cutter.
I used my 'Linen' embossing folder on the card front before adding the image piece. The ribbon has been in my stash for at least 2 years, maybe 3. I found the yellow feathers last week when I reorganizing the craft space so I knew exactly where to put my hands on them. The flower is from Recollections. This card took less than 15 minutes to put together (not counting coloring time) even though it looks complex rather than simple.

What a fabulous image Ginny x
Cute card, Connie. Love those feathers and flower. Yes, we all seem to be on one end or the other when it comes to laundry. Have a fun day, even if it happens to be laundry day. I am getting ready to put a load in now. LOL
Love this image! Made me smile!

What a really fun image NC and a fun story too! :) Love that sentiment and hope I'll be getting something like that for Mother's Day from my boys!! LOL!! Have a great weekend!
Cute card! Love the feather and flower embellishments. Great addition of the frame when you printed your image. Thanks for joining us over at Perfectly Rustics.
Love it Love it Love it!!!!!! Great coloring...perfect set up for layout...ok...another for my wishlist.
PS...I HOPE she doesn't do laundry on Mother's Day and I hope they just pile it up for her to do on Monday.
Ok, so where did you get the linen embossing folder!!! It's beautiful.
As far as the "bird" goes....maybe not beautiful but so fun it makes me smile all over! LOVE your cute, cute, and fun card! We had the perfect weather for hanging clothes out on the line - but since we don't have one I couldn't do that. Not that I would anyway - much easier to flip on the dryer!
Love the sentiment on this fun card too.
