It's the next day in the alphabet prompts at Beccy's Place 30 Days of Christmas and that means we're going to be doing Elves, Embossing, Embossing folders, Easel cards, Evergreens, Ecru, Ebony, and Embellishments. Whew, that may be my longest list of the entire 30 days!
I used another of Beccy's images from her (now retired) 12 Days of Christmas set, this time using the piper from 11 Pipers Piping and turning him into an Elf. I think it was the Elf boots and Santa hat that made me see him as an Elf. My card is actually a twisted Easel card.
Colored with ProMarkers
Elf was fussy cut with scissors
and mounted on dimensional dots
Evergreen bough cut with Memory Box die
Pine cones cut from Ecru CS
Embossing folder by Couture Creations
"Noel" die by Die-versions
Card base is Ebony CS

Birthday Giraffes
I have a dear friend who moved away last year (I mean really away - like 350 miles away!) and she loves giraffes. For as many years as we've known each other, I've made her birthday cards with giraffe images on them. I decided just because she lives in another city now was no reason to change that pattern. I just had to make her card flat and easy to mail.
I colored with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a simple rectangle die from QuicKutz. The card base is kraft CS, and I added an embossed scrap to the background. I inked the edges of both the image piece and the embossed rectangle.
The ribbon was in my stash and I used one of my signature, hand-sewn bows which I had 'dyed' with a yellow ProMarker. Ribbons and bows are definitely my favorite embellies! I put a tiny drop of Liquid Pearls on the bow to hide the thread I used when wrapping the center of the bow. I also added three, flat, metal brads to the top corner.
I put the birthday sentiment on the inside, made with die cut letters and words. The letters were made with a Memory Box die and the word "birthday" was cut with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die to which I added loose glitter.

Graduation Mouse
Here's the second graduation card I made, this one for my grandson who is an honors graduate and who will be entering his long-desired, culinary academy in the fall. The card features this fun mouse from Bugaboo Stamps. This is the image I printed an additional time in order to cut and paste the mortar board onto my granddaughter's grad card which you can find HERE.
Colored with ProMarkers, then cut with a stitched die from Memory Box, and inlaid into a scrap of stitched plaid dp which had been cut with that same die for a double stitched look.
The plaid paper is from a pad put out by Your Next Stamp. The sheer ribbon is a scrap I didn't want to throw away. The dry embossed piece was made using a scrap of CS. I used up a lot of scraps with this card instead of wasting them. :-D

Dressed in His Best
Ever heard the expression "All dressed up and no place to go?" Well, that's the problem for this Lothario from Dr. Digi which is the freebie image for the May Progressive Challenge at The Outlawz.
I colored with ProMarkers and then cut the image with a die from a Sue Wilson set. The distressed background was done using an embossing folder from Couture Creations. I printed, hand cut, and added the sentiment at the bottom.

Spring Fairy
It's taking me a long time to get each project finished but I think the shoulder is getting better on a very slow schedule. How spoiled we are, expecting everything in life to be immediate. :-D Even spring has taken it's time in many regions but this little Conie Fong fairy is doing her best to banish the winter snows and bring on the spring butterflies.

I colored with ProMarkers, then cut the image with a die from Spellbinders. I added sparkle to her
wings and the crystals have Glossy Accents on them. Here's a close up photo for a better look.

Beware of ...
Welcome to the start of another weekly challenge at QKR Stampede. Our theme is always "Anything Goes" and it's open to any player using any products they choose. I decided on more silliness because that's what I love best. :-D
The image is from QKR and is called "All Tied Up" and the sentiment is from our sister company, Eureka Stamps, called "Beware of Children."
I colored with my ProMarkers, distressed them lightly with extra fine sandpaper, then used a stitched die from Die-namics (My Favorite Things) to cut the image. The background is embossed with a folder by Couture Creations.
I had that textured red ribbon in my stash and it seemed to match up with his shirt so I wrapped it around the card front. I have to admit that I much prefer using ribbon over flowers because not only is it flatter for mailing but it's easily used on masculine or feminine cards and flowers seem limited to feminine cards only.
The single 'gem' I added to the ribbon was made by adding loose glitter to a tiny circle of metallic foil.

Easter Hatchlings?
Here we are on the fist Thursday of a new month and that means a new challenge is starting over at Crafting with an Attitude. As always, our theme is "Anything goes" and this month our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.
Did you ever think when you were hunting for all the eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny that some of them might hatch? I think that's what happened to this little gal as she was putting all her eggs into her garden wagon. Now she has a garden blooming with chicks and eggs! :-D You can find her by clicking HERE.
I grabbed my ProMarkers to color the image, adding grass and sky to make it a scene, then cut it with a stitched die from Die-namics (My Favorite Things.) I printed the sentiment and cut that with a Die-namics die also. I matted both the image and the sentiment with cross stitch, die cut, papers (Unbranded dies.)
I used pink CS to make the gate fold card base, leaving one flap very long and the other one narrower but just long enough to tuck in behind the long side. I embossed the long side with a folder from Couture Creations. The borders of the long side, both pink and white, were cut with a Poppy Stamps die. I simply layered everything together onto the long side of the gate fold, playing with the layout until it all looked 'finished.'
Challenges:
Catch the Bug
Coloring in Scrapland
Crafty Sentiments
Cute and Crafty
Cupcake Inspirations

Double Trouble (Taking Suzanne's suggestion - the cart is wooden!)
Ike's World

December Birthdays
I have a dear friend and a DIL who each have late December birthdays, late enough in the month to get lost in the Christmas rush, so each year I make it a point to do birthday cards for them in addition to the Christmas cards I send. The friend's birthday is on the 21st (shortest day of the year here in the northern hemisphere) and this year I used the DT card I did for QKR Stampede as his birthday card.
Our new challenge starts today and our theme is always "Anything Goes." I used a QKR image called "Puppy Eyes" and a sentiment called "Dog Years You're Dead."
I used ProMarkers to color the image, then fussy cut it with scissors. The embossing folder is from Couture Creations ("Tied Together") and I used it on CS which I had already run through my "Linen" folder. The Happy Birthday at the bottom was made by cutting letters with an alphabet die from Memory Box. I had to adhere each letter by hand and it took some time to get them lined up as well as they are. lol
