Holiday Chaos - Shopping Humbug!

I know this is my third post of the day but the Holiday Chaos at Catch the Bug ends today and we have to have our projects posted within the next few hours.  I spent the morning sporadically getting this card made, interrupted by many other things that kept cropping up.  Now, in the middle of writing up this blog, I find out that my daughter is on her way over with my grandson and I'll delay one more time in order to visit with them.  :-D  Sorry, but being a Nana always comes first!

The image I used is the Friday Freebie from Bugaboo Stamps which we are supposed to use along with this BINGO board.

I used the diagonal from bottom left to top right: Plaid/ Die Cut/ Sentiment but I also used a Bugaboo image.  :-D

I colored with ProMarkers, then die cut the image and the frame with dies from Bo Bunny.  The plaid dp came from a stack by My Favorite Things.  I printed and hand cut the sentiment, inked the edges with red, and adhered it with dimensional dots.  The red bow is one of my hand-sewn, signature bows with a pearl.

Humbug vs Ho Ho Ho

Into every holiday season, a little "Humbug" seems to fall.  In my family, we were taught that for every "Humbug" we should respond with a happy and cheerful "Ho Ho Ho."    When I saw this snowman from Beccy's Place with a 'grinch'-like sneer on his face , it triggered memories of my mom saying, "Answer every Humbug with a happy Ho Ho Ho!" and that was long before the movie "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas."  Since today's alphabet letter in Beccy's 30 Days of Holidays is "H" what better image and sentiment?  :-D

I started with the colors at House of Cards.

I colored Mr. "H"umbug Snowman with my ProMarkers, accentuated the scowl on his eyebrows with black marker, and added a little gel pen sparkle to him and covered it with Glossy Accents.  When that was dry, I cut him out with a die from QuicKutz.  The dp with the jolly Santa (I can hear the "Ho Ho Ho" rumbling out of him!) is from a Recollections paper pad.

The ribbon is one of my favorites.  It's "H"olographic in that it alternates red and green depending on how the light hits it.  With no light at all, it looks completely black.  I used my mom's saying as my sentiment.

Humbug Owl

Having not blogged anything in more than a week, I have a ton of cards to share and I'm setting scheduled posts for all this week.  On Saturday and Sunday, I'll be sharing with you several cards I did for Father's Day or with a masculine theme.  But for today, I'm going to share my first Christmas card of the year.  I haven't done anything about Christmas up to now because I made so many Christmas cards last fall that I still have more than enough for family and friends this year!  But, I saw this mopey looking owl over at QKR Stampede and couldn't resist him so doing a Christmas card was necessary.  :-D

With that look on his face, the sentiment was a natural.  I colored him with Promarkers, corner punched the image piece and mounted it onto two layers of torn CS in red and kraft.  The dp is from SU and I added sparkle to the snowflakes on it.  The bow is tied with gingham ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Very CAS in design, even with the three metal brads.

OK, I'm off again and will be visiting all your blogs when I return and have some time that's really all mine!  That may actually not be as soon as I'd like but I haven't abandoned you, honestly.  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
