It Only Seems Impossible

QKR Stampede has another new challenge starting this morning and our theme this week is "Balloons."  For me, balloons just lend themselves to celebrations, especially birthdays.  But for this fun guy (Digi 15401 "Floating Away"), it may just mean sticking to something until the impossible is accomplished.  :-D

I chose to use the sketch from Digi Sketch,
turned one-quarter turn.

I used ProMarkers to color the image, then I cut the image with a hexagon die set from QuicKutz.  I cut a mat from blue polka dot dp, plus two other hexagons from green and pink dp (The Paper Studio.)  I layered them together, offsetting the green and pink to each side.

The ribbon is sparkly and sheer, and I added three tiny buttons.  Another relatively CAS design and I really like it.  I AM learning!  :-D

     Challenges:
613 Avenue Create
Bunny Zoe's
Cutie Pie
Cuttlebug Mania
Going Grey with Scrap Creations
Loves Rubber Stamps
Melonheadz Friends
Party Time Tuesday
Path of Positivity
Perfectly Rustics
Pile It On
Robyn's Fetish
Ribbon Girl

Come play this week!  Don't have a stamp with a balloon?  Check out the QKR Stampede store where you can find either rubber or digi stamps.  Remember, you don't have to use QKR images but if you do, you'll be entered into a separate drawing which increases your chances of winning.  :-D  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Spring Flowers at QKR Stampede

Happy Friday and enjoy the start to your weekend.  We have a new challenge at QKR Stampede this week and our theme is "Spring Flowers."  There are so many gorgeous flower images at QKR that it took me a while to choose this one to use (Digi 16220 "Bouquet") but the search was fun in itself.

I found this sketch at Digi Sketch
and flipped it top to bottom.  I also took some liberties
with the placement of the gemstones.

I printed the image and sentiment onto a scrap of CS, then used my ProMarkers to color the image.  I used a die set from QuicKutz to cut the image and the mat.  I believe all the dp is from DCWV but again, those are mainly scraps from the stash so don't hold me to that.  I know they came from 12" x 12" scrapbooking paper originally.
The wide sheer ribbon was another scrap in my stash and I added a layer of gold mesh on top of it.  The satin ribbon I used to tie the double bow (bless my Craft-Dee Bowz bow maker!) may have come from Really Reasonable Ribbon but I'm not sure.  I added the small paper flower and the gem stones and pronounced it finished.  Another card that pleases me, even more so because it's all from things in my stash.  The more I use things up, the better my excuse to buy some new things.  :-D

     Challenges:

I hope you're going to enter the challenge at QKR this week.  Find some flowers suitable for spring and make something wonderful.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Carousel Seahorse

My term on the DT has ended over at Doodle Pantry but I just can't stay away from Laurie's digis.  And now I can enter the challenges over there again.  :-D

I chose to use the sketch from Digi Sketch
and the colors from CAS: Colors & Sketches

Not only is the image from Doodle Pantry but so are the papers; both the solid and the patterned dp are from the same set as the seahorse image, as is the sentiment.  I die cut the pieces (except the sentiment is hand cut) and then used distress inks on all the edges.  I do love this purple/ turquoise/ green combo!

     Challenges:
Crafting by Designs
Crafting from the Heart
Crafting with an Attitude
Creative Moments
Fan-Tastic Tuesday
Hanna & Friends
Inspiration Destination
Lia Stampz
Not Just Cards
Party Time Tuesday

Short and sweet post today.  I'm still having some back problems and can only sit to type up a post in brief spurts.  Can you believe I started on this post almost two hours ago?  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Butterflies and Tulips

My second post for the day but I was inspired to make another Easter card.  I've been on a 'purple' craze this week, which isn't too hard since it's my favorite color, but part of it has been that I was cleaning up the scraps lying around on my desk and I had a lot of purple ones so....

This gorgeous image is from Artbymiran and I just love it.  Beautiful spring image and I turned it into an Easter card.

I used the sketch from Digi Sketch.

I colored the image with ProMarkers and took on the task of giving her sunshine blonde hair.  I don't do well trying to color blondes (nor am I talented with black hair), but I gave it a shot and am really happy with the results this time.  I must be learning as I go along.  I die cut the image and distressed the edges with  two ink colors.

All the butterfly papers came from the Dream Catcher stack by First Edition.  I distressed the edges of each piece with black ink.  The purple bow is one of those I make by the dozen and I added a lace bow behind it.  The flowers all have gemstones added and I glittered one of the white ones and one of the purple ones.

     Challenges:
Artistic Inspirations
Craft-Dee BowZ
Cuttin' and Stampin'
Di's Digi Designs
Paper Nest Dolls
Party Time Tuesday
Pile It On
Not Just Cards
Sisters of Craft
Vintage Stamping

I'll see you tomorrow with another post for the challenge over at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday.  In the meantime, Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

Sleepy Kitten

Today I want to tell you about the second artist I found this week who's not new, just new to me.  I fell in love and did a second shopping spree so now I get to share this card with you.  The company is Aurora Wings and the image is called "Sweet Dreams."  OK, so you probably knew I'd use a kitten first.  :-D

I took the sketch from Digi Sketch, turned sideways.

I colored the image with my ProMarkers (in my favorite purples, of course), die cut it, and colored the scallops to look like a frame.  The embossing folder is one from SU, I think.  The sentiment is mine, computer printed and hand cut, with inked edges.  I added glitter to the flower centers and the butterfly on the kitten's head.  The bow and the pearls came from my stash.

     Challenges:
Creative Crafts -- New (digi and kitten)
Fan-tastic Tuesday -- Feminine
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday -- In with the new (new digi, new kitten)
Outlawz Greetings -- New Arrivals (new digi and new kitten)
Papertake Weekly -- Add a bow and use a die cut
Passion for Pro-Markers -- Ribbon, lace, or twine (ribbon bow)
Through the Purple Haze -- Favorite colors (purple)
Top Tip Tuesday -- Use a sketch

You really need to go check out all the different digis at Aurora Wings.  She does adorable animals but she also has a large variety of other images, many of which I bought.  Sigh...who could resist?  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
