Candy Cane Wishes

I have all my Christmas cards done, have donated 25 to my local Senior Center, sent 50 to Operation Write Home in September, and yet I find myself still doing Christmas cards because I keep finding simply adorable images which beg to be used.  This digi from Lacy Sunshine is a perfect example.

Coloring is done with ProMarkers, and both the image and the mat are cut with dies from Spellbinders.  The red and white bow is also a die cut (Cottage Cutz).  Obviously, using die cuts on my cards is one of my favorite techniques.  It's rare to see one of my cards without at least a die cut image unless it's one of my single layer CAS cards.

I used embossed black CS for the card base (although it just doesn't show in the photo) and added two bows made from red ribbon for a bit of dimension and texture.  The sentiment was printed using a computer font, then hand cut and matted.  I forgot to photograph the inside but I printed the lyrics from the Christmas song, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and die cut that piece, too, with another die from Spellbinders.  The lyrics of that song just seemed to fit the expression on her face -- sweet with just a bit of longing.
