Let It Snow Fairy

I've done two cards using Lacy Sunshine images this week and this is the first of them.  For those of you still dreading the first snows of winter, take pity on those of us out West who have suffered 6 days of 100+ temperatures, then a cool down to 98 for 2 days, and are now facing yet another 3 days of predicted 100+.  Pant, pant, pant -- we'd love to see some snow right about now!  :-D

I took my colors from the inspiration photo at Creative Colors
where we have to use at least three of the colors plus polka dot paper.
Mine are: 2 shades of blue, white, a touch of green, and brown.

I colored the image with ProMarkers and added sparkle to the snowflakes and snow with glitter gel ink.  I distressed the edges of image and then framed it with turquoise.  I added another frame made from some old polka dot paper and offset the image in it so that I could add the flourish without covering up too much of the image.

The flourish is part of a corner die cut (Cheery Lynn) which was left over from another project where I used only part of the flourish.  It was the perfect embellishment for this card !

  1. What a gorgeous image, which you have colored superbly. Like the image offset like that to accommodate the flourish.

  2. Love that background behind the image! SO pretty and the flourish fits perfectly.
I'm all for letting it snow to cool things down a bit here - although don't think we're as hot as you guys out there right now! Stay cool.

  26. Great card! I love this image and if memory serves me correctly, I am getting the same one to use in a later challenge at LTSCB. I love how you left her hair mostly white and colored in the background to make it stand out. I have never thought of doing that. Thanks so much for sharing at Love to Scrap.
