My First St. Patrick's Project

Some of you may remember that I cheerfully celebrate my birthday on St. Patrick's Day and, since I'm Irish on both sides of my family tree, I love every birthday no matter how many have stacked up over the years.  And there have been quite a few!  :-D  Every grandchild, and now I've added 2 great-grands, gets a St. Pat's card from Nana each year.  This one is a bit different in that it's a tag rather than a card, and it has a pocket on the back to hold a "gold" chocolate coin.

The inspiration to do this tag came about because I belong to the Robyn's Fetish group over on The Crafter's Cafe and they have a St. Patrick's tag challenge going on.  How could I not join in on that?!  The image is a freebie to use for this challenge.  You can play, too.  Just join the group (if you aren't already a member) and send a message to Susan (moderator of the challenge) to get the digi.

The Lucky Leprechaun is colored with various gold and green Copic markers, fussy cut and matted with black CS, then fussy cut again.  I layered the image onto a dp scrap left on my table from another project, and then layered that onto gold dp. I added Baker's twine, a double satin bow, and the three rhinestones.

     Challenges for this project:
Crafty Purple Frog -- Yellow and Green
Crazy Amigo -- Use a tag
Creative Stamp Friends -- Inspired by a song: "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling"
Delightful Challenges -- patterned paper
For Your Inspiration -- photo (colors of green and yellow)
Gingersnap --  Only 2 colors (green & gold)
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Anything goes
Robyn's Fetish -- People (Leprechauns count as "people", right?)
Sassy Cheryl's -- NO embossing
Shelly's Images -- Make it a triple: 3 rhinestones
Sisterhood of Crafters -- Use a digi
Truly Madly Crafty -- Ribbon and bling

That's it for today.  I may have something to post later today or Monday, but in the meantime, be sure to check out the First Ever Blog Hop at Just Inspirational Challenges.  It runs through the end of this month. Tons of prizes, not too many stops on the hop, and some fantastic sponsors.  Read about it here.

Happy Crafting.  NanaConnie

Connie, That image is just adorable and I love the paper and gems you've added. You'd better make one just like this one for each grand-kid because they may fight over this one because it's so cute, especially with that gold coin in the back of it. LOL Have a great day.

Oh My Word....how cute! You have done one more St. Patty's Day card/tag than me...haha But, I think I know the sentiment I want to use. There is no Irish in me...but I swear I feel like I have some. How nice you send all the children cards. I am still waiting on my first grandchild.
