Welcome to the First of November! Where has this year gone? It seems only a few weeks ago, we were wondering if last winter would ever end. It's a Tuesday and that means another challenge at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we'd like to see you incorporate "Thanks" or "Thank You" into your projects. Of course, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and down the road a bit, so I did another Thanksgiving card. Have to get several done quickly so they can be mailed to family all over the country.
Robyn's Fetish is our sponsor this week and they have generously provided all the digis used by the DT. I picked Tom Turkey for my card.
Scrapbook Sisters - Anything Goes
Forever Friends - Animal (always) Anything Goes
Digi Doodle Shop's Best - Anything Goes
The Queen's Royal Digi Challenge - Fall or Thanksgiving
Catered Crop - recipe: I used; Fall, markers, gems, green, stripes, die cuts
Happy Stamping, and I hope we see you playing at Tuesday Throwdown this week. NanaConnie
Robyn's Fetish is our sponsor this week and they have generously provided all the digis used by the DT. I picked Tom Turkey for my card.
Unlike most of my digis which are colored with markers, Tom Turkey is completely paper pieced! No, wait -- I used a gold paint pen on the buckle on his hat, and black for the underside of the hat. Other than that, it's all paper piecing. I printed the image onto ivory paper, then printed it again onto 7 different patterned papers, cut each piece and adhered them with craft glue. 4 Crafty Chicks and Phindy's Place both want paper piecing for their challenges so I did my best. :-D The image is matted with a Spellbinders die cut.
The sketch came from the challenge at Cute Card Thursday.
I cut a strip from one of the papers already used on the image (the one with flowers and leaves), matted it with black and used it as the horiziontal piece. The sentiment is printed, then matted with black CS and again with that same flowered dp. The colors came from Colour Throwdown (peach, blue, yellow, and olive), and the flowered paper just happens to have all of those colors. The yellow is more prominent in the body of Tom Turkey, but each of the little flowers is outlined in yellow. Crafty Creations wants to see leaves with fall colors. My leaves are in that same dp. The three mulberry-paper flowers with rhinestones are the only embellishments since I wanted to keep this one as CAS as possible.
