Another Tuesday, another Throwdown challenge. This week we want to see lots of "Dimension and Texture." The challenge is sponsored by My Grafico.
and if you're not familiar, you really should visit them. They have all kinds of delicious things, including the image I used for today's card, which comes from this digi set.

My image is printed twice, and I colored one with watercolor pencils. The pencil lines are smoothed with plain water. I fussy cut and then layered the colored image on top of the plain image with pop dots onto a frame made from two layers (black and red CS) of Spellbinders die cuts and all of that gives it lots of dimension. Allsorts wanted to see "Frames" on our projects for their challenge. The sentiment is printed and matted with two layers; again, lots of dimension. The paper flowers are made from two layers of petals with a sequin in the middle. The ribbon rose is layered on red gingham ribbon, wrapped around the matted background dp. Both dps are from my stash and are really old.
Lots of layers on this for both dimension and texture. Hope you enjoy the bold, red colors. It's unusual for me to do a card with this much red but since One Stop Craft Challenge wants to see "Bold and Bright" this week, I went as bold and bright as I dared. Also perfect for the red is Shopping Our Stash challenge, where they want red, or ribbon, or roses. How about a red, ribbon rose on a predominantly red card?
OK, time for you to read all about the challenge and the prizes over at Tuesday Throwdown, and while you're there, take time to visit the other gals on the DT and leave them a little bit of comment love. Then come play with us this week. I'd love to see what you create that's full of "Dimension and Texture." Thanks for visiting today and feel free to browse before you wander off. Happy Crafting. I used a sketch from Eat, Sleep, Stamp, turned on its side.
Tracy is going to be so surprised to see a 'girlie' card instead of a masculine one. Sorry, Tracy -- didn't mean to shock you! :-) The Corrosive Challenge says we should do "Girlie" projects for their challenge, and I think the sweet jam and all the flowers make this lively and girlie. Don't you agree? Yes? OK, then I'll submit it to Digital Tuesday for their Cute and Girly theme.

Adorable set of images and you chose the same one I would have :-). Love your card and the bright colors. Wonderful shading too.
NanaConnie, this looks like a ready-to-eat jar of strawberry preserves..yummy. Good dimension there, too. Great card!!!
NanaConnie I think we were on the same wave length :) Love the coloring of the image and the pretty dps and ribbon with it!
YUMMY looking card! Love all the red and the gingham. So pretty, Connie.

This is a fabulous card, Connie. I love how your strawberries and jam jar actually cast shadows.
Thanks for commenting on my blog post about my friendship afghan and my bunnies, Kess & Nahla. I hope you are right that they will soon be snuggling together for naps.
Blessings on your day,
Teresa
Gorgeous card with a beautiful framed image!
Thanks for entering our You've been framed challenge this week at Allsorts and good luck!
Love Nicola xxx
your strawberries actually look delicious!! hmmm... I just noticed you and I colored the top of our jar as the Jar cover and the others colored it as part of the cheese cloth. My jam comes from the supermaket and has no cloth - what is it supposed to be?
I love this card, they look so life like, I could pick the strawberries off and eat them. :) The colours are so vibrant. :)
How seasonal and just lovely.
Thank you so much for joining in my 'You've been framed' theme and sharing your lovely work with us at Allsorts this week.
