One more card completed today and now I only have 3 more MUST DO cards before the weekend finishes. Did I say earlier the day was a quiet one? Ah, yes.... Well, the earlier card got me started on "inchies" and then I saw the sketch at Midnight Madness this week!

I got this darling image from A Day for Daisies and I think this is my first time playing in one of their challenges. Their theme is "A Twine Thing." Catch the Bug wants to see "Birds or Bees" and that is a bee in the middle of the flower.
I printed the image onto white, beige and lavender papers and then paper pieced the hair, swimsuit, and flower, then colored/shaded it with Copics. I used Spellbinders dies to cut the ovals (the pink one is from SEI and the others from my stash), layered them together and added faux stitching. Fab & Funky wants to see us do stitching this week, either real or faux.
I used an embossing folder on the black CS and put score lines in the purple CS (looks blue), then cut one inch squares for the background. I matted the purple ones with black CS and adhered all of them onto a card base of red-violet. That took more time than anything else. Because I spent so much time on the inchies, I'm going to submit this one to Operation Write Home, too. BTW, they are having a blog skip today and there are prizes to be won for CAS cards. This card definitely doesn't qualify as CAS but, fortunately, the inchies and the CAS are two different challenges! lol
I added the purple twine (The Twinery), the flowers, and a gingham bow. I think this one will end up in my stash of cards for sale because I'll need a padded envelope for it. It's much too bulky to send off to Operation Write Home. It won't fit into a standard size A2 envelope.
OK, back to the craft room but you won't see anything else until tomorrow. Glad you came for a visit. Stop and browse if you like. There are cold drinks in the fridge and brownies in the pantry. See you tomorrow. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie

Remember those "sun suits" in the 1950s? They had spaghetti ties on the shoulders? We lived in those as little girls. Ahhhh the good ole days.
