This little guy is so yellow, it seems like he should be a rubber ducky! But he's actually a digi from Robyn's Fetish and he couldn't wait to sail away from the beach even though the challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is "At the Beach."

I'm also submitting this for the color challenge at the Ribbon Reel where the colors are yellow, blue, a touch of green, and a neutral. My touch of green is in the water right under the boat, but it gets a little bit lost in all the blue. Speaking of all the blue... Crafts and Me Challenges wants to see shades of blue or blue-green on our projects this week.

I used a sketch from Operation Write Home.

If you're not familiar with OWH, they are the fantastic organization that ships donated, handmade cards to our troops overseas so they can use them to send cards to family and loved ones, celebrating occasions like birthdays, holidays, and sometimes just a note home for no occasion at all. I set a goal for myself this year to do 365 cards for OWH in 2011, and it looks like I may even exceed that goal. I've sent four boxes already this year, and the next one will go right around Labor Day in September. That one has lots of fall themed, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cards in it. I try to get those to the shippers early so they can sort through and decide which ones to send when.
This image is colored with markers, and the dps are from my stash. The sentiment is printed with a computer font. Paper Sundaes wants us to do Just Saying Hi cards but I combined that with a birthday greeting since I know that OWH always needs birthday cards and because Anything Goes Challenge has birthdays or celebrations for their theme this week. Pixie Cottage also wants to see birthday cards. Everything is matted with black CS, and I added the three flat rhinestones (Stampendous) and the blue and brown twine, wrapped around the two panels before adhering them to the card front.
