This was such a fun sketch that it made doing the card easy peasy. It's the latest one (today's) from Midnight Madness and I turned it on its side.
I used the Monday freebie from Meljen's for their challenge which ends tomorrow and the theme is "Frame It.' (If I can brag for a second here, one of the cards I submitted to Meljen's a couple of weeks ago was selected as one of their Top 5!) I'm also going to send this one to the Meljen's Monday Freebie challenge on PCP.
I thought this was the cutest little lamp and first thought about a baby card but ended up with a completely different kind of sentiment which changed the card. So now, I'll send it off to Operation Write Home for one of our troops to use to write home to family or loved ones. :-)
Image is colored with watercolor pencils, softened with Gamsol. In the interests of 'framing it', I matted it with both dark brown and golden yellow CS from my stash. The background dp is from the Fairy Flora pad by Prima, which is one of my favorites. I noticed my stock of it was getting low, then I found it on sale at our local craft store so I got two more pads of it!
The card base is a mustard yellow and I punched a slot in the top fold so that I could wrap the twine around the card front and tie it. The flowers all started out creamy white but I colored them with markers to get the shades I wanted for this card. I added rhinestones to the flower centers, layered on the sentiment and the card was finished.
Now, if I just had the energy for some night life! Yawn. Maybe I'll just go back to bed and turn out the light. :-) Honey helped (hindered?) while I was making this card and then kitten-napped in the middle of my table until I moved her to a blanket. I got some precious pictures but haven't had time to edit them yet. I'll post some later, I promise. Yeah, yeah, I know -- I'm acting like you all love her as much as I do and just can't wait to share in her latest antics! She's 3 months old now and into everything!!
On another topic for just a minute: An update for those of you who fell in love with the seagull digi image used on the card I did last week for Operation Write Home's Water themed challenge --
Pop over there and download it yourself if you'd like to have it, then leave her some thanks. I know she'll appreciate it.
Thanks for your visit today. Hope you found something fun while you were here. Feel free to browse around. Don't forget to stop by in the morning for the Dude Time Doodles most recent Wednesday challenge. This one will be tons of fun. If you did last week's blog hop, be sure to check in at Dude Time tomorrow to see if you're a winner! Happy Crafting. NanaConnie
