Lots of things influenced this card besides just the fact that I'm in a "Back to School" frame of mind. Apples and teachers always go hand in hand to my way of thinking, and this image from Karen's Doodles just steals my heart every time I see it. I missed getting this done in time for their challenge last week but that wasn't really the reason for using the image anyway. I used a sketch from Digi Doodle's challenge this week.
I chose colors from 4 Crafty Chicks: Poppy, Pear, Coral, and White.

The image is colored with Copics, matted with white, and then poppy red. The leaves on the apple are as close to pear green as I could get, and the 'coral' color is in the glitter on each of the four corners. CAS-ual Fridays wants us to use glue dots (not tape or liquid glue) covered with glitter as embellishments so I tried it. Not bad for a first time try. :-)
The black ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and I wrapped it around a red CS panel before layering it onto the card front. The main image went over that and then I added the tiny black ribbon and two red, ribbon roses. Allsorts wants us to do red cards. Despite the other colors I used, I think this one qualifies as a 'red card'!
OK, now I'm going to fix myself some coffee before the day gets too warm and tackle some of the household chores, like laundry (blaaah), before I go play in the craft room. Discipline!
