Heavenly Strawberry

FOR THE HEART SONG CHALLENGE CARD, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN OR CLICK HERE

Cocoa Mouse (Sweet N Sassy Digis) has a heavenly strawberry he wants to share today and then his card will go off to Operation Write Home so that one of our deployed troops can use it to say Happy Birthday to someone at home.  I used a sketch from CPS - Card Sketches.

The Crazy 4 Cocoa challenge this week is to do paper pieRcing, and that's in addition to using a Cocoa image (always).

I told you it was a Heavenly strawberry!  :-)  I colored dear Cocoa and his strawberry with Copic markers and then layered him onto a white die cut.  Right about then, the phone rang and I went to answer it.  When I got back to the crafting table, my sweet, little, Honey kitten had grabbed Cocoa and put her sharp little teeth through the top portion of the die cut -- several times!   As I was cutting away the die cut (thinking to replace it), it looked like Cocoa was resting on a cloud.  It was cute and I decided to just go with it.

Then I remembered that Paper Sundaes has a challenge of Sky and Clouds this week!  I checked the sketch to see how I could incorporate the two, given what I now had in my hand as my focal image.  I grabbed some white CS, made a cloud shaped mask from paper, and used a Copic marker to make sky and clouds on the CS.  A little shadowing with a gray Copic, cutting the sky and cloud pieces to size, and matting everything with gray CS meant I had achieved Victory over Adversity!  Taadaa.  Honey was banned from the craft room for the duration.  lol

I finished the card with ribbon, a bow, the sentiment (every layer is done on Pop Dots for dimension), and then pierced the corners and added the rhinestones.  It's now in the box for OWH.   You can read al about OWH by clicking on their badge to the right.  Fantastic organization and I love donating cards to them for our military folks.

Glad you came by for a visit today.  Sit a spell or browse around.  Hope you find somethign enjoyable.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie

I love your heavenly Cocoa floating on a cloud! The fact that you and your cat both had a hand.......er..paw.......in making it together! He apparently thought his idea was better! Too funny!
