Good Monday Morning and the start of a new week and new challenge at Heart Song Inspirations. This week, we want to see a monochromatic project and/or use brads. You can even do both, if you like. I managed both on my DT sample card so it must be relatively easy if even I can do it! :-)
The image is 'Bella and Baby' from Heart Song and can be found here in the store. Isn't she adorable? So loving and tender for her size. :-) I am having so much fun with Heart Song digi images! You really should go over and look around. Then, come play in the challenges each week. It's lots of fun and we love seeing your creative works. You don't have to use a Heart Song image, but each month there is a freebie posted on the challenge blog and you can always use it for your project.
This card is partly for our Great Leader at Heart Song, Leah, who is anxiously awaiting news of travel dates to be able to go to Ethiopia to bring home their adopted baby boy. Saying prayers every day, Leah! The other part is that I'm expecting my second great-grand to arrive late this summer. We don't know yet if it's boy or girl, but I know my grandson would very much like a boy!
This is a "Birth" day card, a slight difference in the interpretation of "Birthday." Both Stamps R Us and Dutch Dare have "Birthday" as their challenge theme, and each of them will have to give me a little leeway for doing a card for a 'New Birth' instead of a traditional birthday card! Thanks. Moving Along with the Times has a theme of "Brand Spankin' New", so this is also one for a new baby!
I used a sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.
This sketch site is new to me but looking back over the previous sketches, I think it's going to be fun working with them. I used the sketch as a starting base and added papers and bling and embellies that worked with the card. Almost everything was from my stash, but I do know the papers were DCWV, although I can't tell you what mat stack.
The background square is glittered, the sheer ribbon is sparkly, and the flourish is made from black, faceted gems which sparkle when the card is moved. The three background strips are made from metallic, patterned papers so they add some shine. 4 Crafty Chicks would like to see bling -- however we choose to interpret that. Finally, Craft Your Passion has an "Anything Goes" challenge and The ABC Challenge says "Z is for Zoo." I've never seen a zoo without an elephant or two. :-)
OK, go get a card made that's monochromatic or that uses brads (or both) and then link it at the Heart Song Inspirations challenge. We want to see what you can create. Thanks for visiting and good luck in the challenge. Happy Creating. NanaConnie
