This week, Stamps R Us has asked us to do an encore presentation of a card we did 'whenever back when.' I decided to look through cards I've made for Operation Write Home (whose theme this mid-week is "Thinking of You" and you have to think about someone to wish them the best!) and found this one whose design I still like. It's a strange experience looking at things which you made a while back, which may or may not satisfy your current style.
Anyway, I still like this really simple design and I would do it over and over again. I'll also post this over at Make My Monday for their "Things with Wings." Their challenges have a single theme all month long but focuses each week on a different aspect of the theme. This week it's on "birds and bugs", and I'm more attracted to birds. :-) Delightful Challenges and Clearly I Stamp also have a "Things with Wings" theme on their challenge.
The card base from DCWV has the leaves already printed on it (a great way to have a background pattern but save one layer of weight for CAS designs). The owl stamp is from Serendipity Stamps and is colored with Copic markers, then cut out and layered onto kraft CS, then dark brown CS. The sentiment is stamped and heat set with “Country” EP from Sparkle ‘n’ Sprinkle, then matted. No embellishments beyond that, partly because the background is busy enough and it didn't need anything more.
Here Come the Boys has a challenge theme of "Critters" this week and, of course, the card must be for a guy.

Have a great day and find some fun in it, won't you? Thanks for stopping by to visit and if you've left a comment, I really appreciate it. It's you people who keep me motivated and creating, so thank you. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie
