Celebrating the Harvest

Yep, no doubt about it.  I'm ready for fall.  Football has started and regardless of the thermometer still reading in the 90s, my craft room looks like fall already.  This evening's card is all about celebrating fall and the harvest (Fussy and Fancy wants to see 'Celebration' cards), and I used the red, orange, and green colors from the challenge at Crafty Creations.  The sketch came from Cardabilities, and I had to stretch it a bit because of the stamp I used for the focal point.

I was very taken with the grid pattern in the sketch, but using it exactly that way meant that I lost too much of my image.

The wagon  load of pumpkins is a rubber stamp from Sparkle 'n' Sprinkle (where the challenge is cards with a 'trellis' feel), stamped and heat embossed with Apple Red EP, also from S'n'S.  I colored the pumpkins and the flower stems with Copics and left the rest uncolored.  I didn't want to take too much away from the EP.

I matted the image with black CS and then added the grid (also black CS), but laid it out on the diagonal so that it better showed off the wagon of pumpkins and also looked more like a trellis or lattice.  I layered the image onto dp which was matted with black, then added the orange grosgrain ribbon and bow (Really Reasonable Ribbon), and layered that onto a card base of olive green.  I printed the sentiment, and added the bling in the embellishments (flowers and rhinestones), which were all from my stash.  Simon Says Stamp and Show wants to see bling this week.

Although orange is probably my least favorite color, I really like this card!  Since heat embossing is one of my favorite techniques, it's nice to do a card with rubber stamps and EP again.

So glad you stopped by for a visit.  Browse around and enjoy.  With luck, you might even find something that starts your creative juices flowing, or find a laugh here and there.  Happy Stamping.  NanaConnie
