Bear Punkins

This image is one of the new Rhubarb Bear digis from Sweet n Sassy where this week's challenge is colors of orange, yellow, and green.  Those three colors just said "Pumpkins" to me so I decided on this image.

I used this sketch from The Sweet Stop.

The wagon is paper pieced, as is Rhubarb (plain yellow paper) and then the image is colored and shadowed using Copics.  After rounding the corners, I matted it with brown CS.  The dp s are from the Nectar pad by Colorbok, and the ribbon for the gingham bow is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The baker's twine was in my stash, probably from The Twinery.

I think this will make a perfect little boy's birthday card, especially for one like my youngest grandson who has an October birthday, right in the middle of the harvest season.  But this card goes off to Operation Write Home, where it can be used by one of our deployed troops to send birthday wishes to a son.  However, I will post it for the challenge at Corrosive Challenges where they want to see masculine cards for their challenge.  I'll have another one for them tomorrow, too, after I get my Dude Time Doodles DT card done for their challenge that starts Wednesday morning.  It'll be a fun one this week so be sure to stop by and get all the details, then make a card and play with us at Dude Time.

I'll see you tomorrow.  Have fun in the meantime and be on the lookout for inspiration.  It's all around us!  Happy Creating.  NanaConnie

What a great paper-piecing job. I really enjoy paper piecing too -- gets me out of coloring. :) Thanks for playing along with us at the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge blog.

Yep, those would have said "pumpkins" to me, too. Rhubarb is such a little cutie, each new image I see of him is more adorable than the last. I really like how you both framed the image and did the greeting with the black -- it makes them "pop" against the other colors.
