Summery Get Well

     Funny how challenges often give you the inspiration to create a card you need right then!  One of my co-workers is down with a summer cold (why do summer colds always feel worse?) and One Stop Craft Challenge wants us to do Get Well cards. 

     I used a sketch from The Sweet Stop (shown above), and an image of Cocoa, the Mouse from Sweet 'N' Sassy.   Since I used a Cocoa image, I'll submit this to the Crazy 4 Cocoa challenge where the theme is "Summer."  Wouldn't a summer cold count as a summer event?  LOL.
 
     Here's my card:

     The colors came from the challenge at Allsorts, Lemon and Lime -- nice summery colors.   I used Copic markers to color the image, fussy cut Cocoa and adhered him to a die cut oval.  The dps are from my stash (using up all those scraps as I promised myself!) and the card base is a pre-cut card from a box of DCWV Brights.  The flower-and-leaf dp is vellum applied over the same solid lime CS as the image oval and held with square brads.  Both it and the plaid dp are adhered with pop dots for dimension.  The sentiment is printed using a computer font, and cut with an oval die.

     The lemon-yellow flowers are layers of petals put together with a sequin brad in the middle.  I added a touch of sparkle to the smallest layer of petals and around the fussy cut image with a gel pen.  It accentuates the summer theme.
