This was a quick, CAS card, and it's going in the box for Operation Write Home. If you aren't familiar with OWH, please click on their name above and read all about them. They're such a fabulous organization and they do so much to help support our troops.
This card was inspired by the challenge at Heart Song Inspirations, where they want us to use scallops or paper pieRcing or both. The image is from Heart Song and I used an old CAS sketch (favorite of mine for quick cards.)
The image is colored with Copic markers, then cut out with a Spellbinders oval die. It's matted with another, larger, oval die cut. I used purple ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and wrapped it vertically around the card front, made from saffron yellow CS. I tied a bow from stitched ribbon and adhered it just below the image.
I did paper piercing in each of the four corners and, although it's nearly impossible to see in the photo, I did piercing all the way around the purple oval frame. The piercing took longer than anything else on the card, including assembly, and I still did the whole thing in about half an hour!
Three postings in one day! Not bad. I still have the long weekend before I return to the daily work grind so I have to get lots done and scheduled for posting because I know there are going to be a couple of days when I'm not going to be able to create or post.
Thanks for visiting today. Hope your week is going well and that you have fun plans for the long weekend. Don't forget to take a moment in gratitude and say thanks for this great country and those who defend it every day. THANKS HEROS! NanaConnie
