One more posting today just so you'll know that I'm keeping busy and out of trouble. :-) It's been much warmer this week and the rains seem to be gone so I decided that a summer card was definitely in order. I used a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches, and recipes from Cooking It Up with Katie (Use blue, add a splash, use a circle) and from Dutch Dare Card Challenge (3 pattern papers, 2 embellies, 1 image.) Here's the sketch.

I chose an image from Karen's Doodles, one of their new releases, I think. It was perfect for a summer splash!
The image is colored with markers except for the bikini, which is done with dimensional glaze pen. Then, I used a sparkle gel pen to highlight the splash part of the water. I rounded the corners of the image piece and adhered it to a Lacy Circle die cut (Spellbinders.) I chose sparkly dp (DCWV) for one side of the background and a bubble paper from SEI for the other. I thought each of them worked really well with the water image. My third patterned paper is used to print the sentiment, and it's matted with medium-blue CS from my stash. The two embellishment choices are the paper flowers and the flat gems, adhered with craft glue.
I love this card! I like the fact that it's sparkly without using glitter. I love the cool blues -- so great to use on a summer card, especially on hot days! I love that Karen's doodles came up with this image for summer and I know I'm going to use it on several cards. It's so carefree and cheerful!
Halfway through the weekend. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I am. Thanks for visiting me, and feel free to spend some time browsing. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie
