Can I just start by saying that I had way too much fun making this card? I used one of my favorite House Mouse & Friends summertime images. The challenge at House Mouse right now is "Here Comes Summer!" I combined it with the challenge at Incy Wincy, where they also want us to do a summertime theme card but they also want us to use blue as the primary color. Of course, that meant I ended up doing a blue, monochromatic, color scheme.

Isn't that just the "coolest" bunny you've ever seen?
The image is stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Country EP from Sparkle 'n' Sprinkle (my favorite place to get EP!) Rather than color the image and take away from the blue theme, I let the embossing stand alone. I used a negative from a die cut (meaning I used the hole to frame the image. That counts as using up scraps, right?), and wrapped polka dot ribbon (grosgrain from Really Reasonable Ribbon) around the bottom of the image panel. I made a bow from the same ribbon, then added a blue, ribbon-flower to the center of the bow.
Before adding the image panel to the white card base, I cut some DCWV dp with that same Nesties die set and added another circle 'frame', cut from white paper using two scalloped circle dies of different sizes (one inside the other), offsetting it so that the dp showed through both above and below the white frame. Then I added the image panel.
Final touch was the hand written sentiment on white CS, shaped with a corner punch. I highlighted the edges of the sentiment with a marker. This has to be the "coolest" card I've made this year! Love it to pieces.
