I love the calm serenity of the stamp I used on this card for the "watercolor" technique challenge over at The House That Stamps Built. They also have a sketch challenge going at the same time and I used that sketch. The sketch challenge closes in just a couple of days so if you want to get in on it, do it now.

Here's what I did combining them.
The image is from Repeat Impressions, stamped on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with black detail EP. The EP gives the image a gentle sparkle. I colored it with a combination of actual watercolors and watercolor pencil, softened with water. I used a Nesties (Spellbinders) oval die to cut the image and then matted it with a larger oval die cut.
The black highlighting on the larger oval is done with a watercolor brush (nearly dry) and very thin acrylic paint. The sparkly, sheer ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and I put a single strip of the black polka dot ribbon on top of it, then wrapped both of them around the turquoise CS before adhering it to the card base. I added the image oval and then the bow tied from the sparkly ribbon. I added the white flowers with rhinestone centers for some additional sparkle. I'm submitting this one to Mark's Finest Papers for their "Sparkle" challenge.
The sentiment is printed with one of my computer fonts and layered to the card underneath the sheer ribbon. Since Operation Write Home wants cards with a "Love You" theme, and since I'm doing lots of cards for them all this week (have to get a good start on filling the next box for them), I wanted a very simple, "love you" statement. The sparkle on this card is all done without any glitter, and the bow and flower embellishments are attached securely with glue dots or dabs of craft glue.
OK, I think that's it for today -- two posts should be enough. I'm going for a late lunch with friends. However, they are both crafters and card makers so who knows what may develop before the end of the day. We may decide to do more OWH cards after we enjoy our lunch. Thanks for stopping in to visit. Browse around while you're here. Make yourself at home and feel free to leave me a comment. Happy Stamping. NanaConnie

9 Comments that I appreciate. Thank you.:
GORGEOUS, Connie! As you said, the image is so serene. I really like how the aqua blues play off of the image, and the way you tucked the greeting under the ribbon -- it softens it somehow. So lovely!
Totally gorgeous!!! Love that image and it's perfect in the oval frame. So very pretty.
